Dunno. With 4 guys in and only a pile of draws at this point, I might have just called and seen the river. Like I said in another post, I tend to be more passive and patient at this game. The pot (to my way of thinking) isn't big enough to try and take down here.

In his OP he says he's trying to win the pot right here, not build a huge pot.A repot is going to fold at least 2 of the other hands here. I'd rather flat call, looking for overcalls and more people to hopefully pay us off on the river.

what about a small raise so you can win a huge pot if you hit on the river? if you raise it to 7 and get two callers and hit you should be able to push about your whole stack.

I like this play the most. I think we get the most value for our hand playing it this way.

I agree. Losing affects one's play a lot. If i was on a winning streak i'd probably make a smaller raise believing i will hit on river. But because i was losing for the last 3 days i was pretty sure i was going to miss it on river so i wanted to win without seeing a river.I couldn't figure out how to overcome this leak.

Excellent play. One of the few times anyone on this forum has suggested some sort of pot-manipulation! And this board is an excellent one to make the small raise. It's not just random decisions as to when you should 'pull' or 'push'. Board texture is maybe not a massive component, but thinking about nut types and boards can help you make some better decisions.Same for PLO8 as well.

The small raise works very well here, but only because your hand is so very strong:There is no flush drawThe only hand that can really re-pop you is a lucky QQ. (I don't see 99 here based on the action; 66 and 22 re-popping are either very bad players or have something like JT22)You don't fear getting re-popped, the only thing it will cost you is customers.14 nut outs, and the only hand you might possibly worry about is a very unlikely KJTx if a J or T hits.If there is even one flush draw, especially if it is a flopped flush draw, I definitely pot this turn.
