Not a bad beat really. It's not even 3-1 that you'll win when the money goes in on the flop. And your attempt to "test" the BB was really bad. You don't "test" anyone by raising the minimum.

2 kings+4 tens+4 eights=10 outs on the turn. He had more outs than he would have had on a flush draw. And the turn odds don't matter anyway, as the money went in on the flop. Like I said before, you aren't even 3-1 to win that hand on the flop. This really is not a bad beat at all. It's just a typical happenstance. And yes, your raise was getting called pre-flop either way, but you weren't "testing" anything with such a tiny raise, so don't say you were. And if the blinds were really 1200-2400, your flop bet wasn't "strong" either. It was a minimum bet. That would be called "weak."

ummmmmmmmmhey shitstain where do u get 4 tens and 4 eights.................................there was one ten on the board so there is only 3 left ........then the eight on the turn...........now there is only 3 eights left6 of those and 2 kings.......one of which was muckednot good odds at allon the turn card im ahead 81%despite the fact that i agree wit you the preflop raise was weak however the person sitting in big blind was tight and the blinds were rather expensive........................AND I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN CALLED OUT ANYWAY.......SHE WAS SITTING ON KINGS

Yeah, you are right, I messed up with calculations. It's 8 outs, and I dunno how you'd know a king was mucked, that really shouldn't go into your calculations either. And you are going with results-oriented thinking when you are saying she wouldn't throw away kings pre-flop. I know she's not letting go of kings, but your raise isn't "putting her to the test" as you tried to put it. A minimum raise never puts anyone to "the test." She can call with plenty of much weaker hands pre-flop because of your small raise. I just found it funny that your commentation of the hand described your own moves with really "good" adjectives. You were "putting her to the test" pre-flop with a minimum raise. And you came out with a "strong bet" on the flop when you only bet the minimum. No real critcism, I just found it funny.

No it's not - that means you lose 1 in 5 times, and if you go into full Hellmuth mode each time you lose one of those your blood pressure is going to take a real beating. It's not even a bad beat really, just poker.

I suppose that is a runner runner, but he could have paired the 10 on the turn just as easily, so it's not really a runner runner.. And on that flop, you are only 73/27 favorite, not the worst beat of all time.

even though it was sort of a suck out do you expect him to lay down kings to that flop.....no one is good enough to put you on 9,2.......thats a spot where all the moneys going in no matter what....only way you get away is don't raise preflop with a hand like 9,2

You were a victim of thinking two pair is a killer hand. I've lost count of the number of times I've played two pair aggressively and lost. It is worth mentioning that two pair looks great, but is the third lowest ranked hand in the game.Last night I flopped a FH. I had 8-6 suited in the BB. 8 8 6 comes on the flop. I bet - everybody but one guy folds. 7 on the turn - I bet - he calls me again. Another 7 on the river. I bet, we cap it and he has J 8 so I have to split the freakin' pot. I was way ahead, but it was just bad luck. He's not about to lay down trip 8s any more than your chick is going to fold KK over the board... I'm steamed about it, but that's the game.We all have worse stories. I raised enough to take a guy all-in in a tourney once. I had QQ with 9926 on the board... I read correctly that he did not have another 9. He calls with only AK and catches an A, a 6-outer, at the river. Who would risk all their chips with a pair on the board, and one card to come? That guy would, and lots like him.How about the guy who called a big raise after the flop with over cards on the board. He has 5 3 off in the pocket and catches 5-3 on 4th and 5th street and beats my top-pair! Now you're getting me worked up... where'd I put that Valium?Koroshiya :!:
