quick story here, I came back to playing lots now, and am trying to build a BR, i'm playing 1/2 NL and I've crushed the game in the past, but for the last 4 sessions, i've been carddead. QQ was my best pockets, i got them twice in 4 session. and they lost each time.

Now that u know where my head is at wink.gif please analize this hand

11 man table, Me with $120 in BB.

about 2 MP limpers, and button limps, SB completes i check with KQo

5 to the flop

flop is Q,8,x rainbow. *edited

I check, it checks around to button who bets 10. Sb folds, i raise to 25. everyone folds. button calls.

turn A, I check, button checks. (button is a old asian guy who hasnt done anything to stand out, just been sitting there calling / folding betting small. etc..

river is a brick.

I fire 30. thoughts?

edit.. There was no straight sorry

I prefer betting more on the river, 45ish.. or check/calling a reasonable sized bet. I don't think you're getting much value from QJ or worse but we have to think we're good here

I had trouble putting this guy on much of anything except a weak Q like u say.

i thought 30 wouldnt even get called unless from hands that beat me

Here is the reason i ask about m play, and if it was standardish.

The guy did call the 30. and flipped over pocket aces.

everyone ooo'ed and aahh'ed and commented on how well he played it. i felt like i was taking crazy pills. am i the only one here who thinks he played that horribly and was basically dumb luck to have me check/raise and iscolate in the multiway limped pot.

i dunno, i felt dirty after seeing it

I dislike a weak lead here to attempt to get value from a weaker queen.. A bet of $45 is being called/raised/folded roughly the same % of the time with the same hand ranges, but honestly I prefer a chk/call of a reasonable sized bet

He called behind with the absolute nuts on the river, when you both had what $50-60 behind? Yeah don't feel bad

I can see how him flipping over that hand would really annoy you after you made the river bet thinking there was a fair chance you were ahead. But I don't think that you need to analyse your game just because your opponent in this particular hand doesn't seem to understand that a set of aces is a reasonably strong hand.

It was at my local B&M, and yes. its always this donktastic. although @ 11 handed, it makes things a bitslow. but. very profitable if u can play it.

I just been questioning my last 4 sessions. mostly card dead, but wondering if hands like this are to blame

Not all of em.

I've never played 11 handed up in Thunder Bay, aside from the odd tournament which they do start 11 handed.

Royal,

Honestly, I think I'd play it the same way. You flop a good hand on a non-threatening board and you make a small CR. The A rolls off on the turn, so it's reasonable to check, although THIS is probably a leak since you're opening the door for people to take more pots from you. When he doesn't bet the A, I'm not gonna give him credit for one. On the river, you make a standard value bet which can also serve as a blocker. Value bets don't always make money. In this case, betting into top set is bad, but I still think you played correctly.

Windsor is 9, sometimes 10 (I think), handed. Never seen 11.
