Vegas Weekend - Huge Trip Report.

Recommended Posts

Update of my previous post here: http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...=0#entry1846694Thursday- Plane landed at 8:30. At 9:15 got to the bellagio. Played a $285 SNG into the $2700 ME super satellite at 1pm. Won. Kings held in a 3 way all in with 4 left, then open shoved with a huge lead most of my hands till he called and i won a 60/40. - Met my dad who just arrived, ate some pizza. - Played the super satellite. Shouldn't have eaten pizza. Waking up early and heavy food made me super sleepy. Chipped up to 7.5ish at best, then went completely card dead. Stole as much as I could and went out with 125ish left. 39 got seats. Did get to sit with Tony Cousineau for an hour of it. Very entertaining fellow.- Ate dinner- Played a couple 285 sngs. I went out first in the first one and the second was with steve dannenman and a few of his friends. A solid 1.5 hours of trash talk all around. I went out 4th (only 1st is paid in these - 2700 seat + 70 cash). Fantastically fun. I had the whole table calling everying "-aments" by the time I busted. 90% of you hate me now.... aments.- Tried to get a cash game, then realized I had been up for 19 hours and wanted to play Friday, so I went to sleep. Ridiculous moment of the dayPhil hellmuth arrived nearly 2 hours late to a super satellite. He had lost almost half his stack from what I could see. Then, instead of sitting down and playing, he got up at least 3 times to talk to friends around him, including a guy next to me. He kept saying what amazing deals he had going on. Friday- Got down to the bellagio around 9, played a 285, never got anything going.- Noodle bar. yum yum. I actually went here on the near threatening recommendation of nutzbuster. Only disappointing item was the pan fried dumplings.- Got on the 10-20nl list. As the 1pm tourney ended, they started opening tables so I got a seat pretty quickly. Booked a moderate win (for the stakes) over 3 hours. Nothing amazing, just relatively straight forward poker picking up small pots. Played with a few of the guys who are regulars on LATB. Most interesting hand here:http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...showtopic=97381- Played a $285 for the 10pm $2,650 super sat and won it. Shannon elizabeth was sitting next to our table for most of heads up waiting for something. She is not unattractive and is probably pregnant with all the eye sex we had.- Our 285 was next to bobby's room. Townsend, cunningham, j'dags, etc. were in there with a 200-400NL going. Boss said they were expecting the big game to start up shortly.- Had some fantastic sushi at the mirage while I freshened up and changed.- Played the 10pm super satellite. In the second orbit, late / MP raised it a standard amount, and the CO and myself with 55 (BB) called. Flop: J 8 5r. I checked, MP open shoved for 2.8k (at 25-50...), Button called, and I overshoved. Button folded. In retrospect, I should have stop and go'd, but I thought the button would be priced in with KJ or AJ. He folded QJ face up. MP showed Ad9d and half the table actually laughed out loud at him as he walked off. I bled a little bit with every raise I made for the next 2 hours being shoved over (literally, every one) until I seriously misplayed 66 in level 6 and went out at the last hand before the second break. - During the super, there was a $3k sng going on for a main event seat at the table next to us. Table included carlos mortenson, johnny chan, and a few others that were familiar. Pretty sure carlos took it down. - Went back to the main poker room from Fontana to find 3-4 tables of what I would consider the "big game" (let's not get into an argument about the definition of this, ok?) going. There was large NLHE game going on table 1 in bobby's room, a 3k-6k HORSE + TD game going on table 2 in bobby's room, what looked like 1k-2k going on in the main room, and by far the sickest: sammy farha and patrick antonius playing the "sammy game" heads up in the main room. The sammy game in this case was rotating 1k-2k PLO (100k or 150k cap, i couldn't figure it out) and 4k-8k LO8. There were at least 2 other games going at 400-800+.- Walking back to mirage, I went into caesar's to see if anything at all was happening and saw a 5-10 game I thought i'd splash around in. I *thought* there were 6 people playing because there were 6 seated. As soon as I bought chips, I realized that 2 of the seated were just friends of the players watching, and one person immediately got up making us 4 handed. This was not super fabulous as the other 3 had obviously been playing together for most of the night. Early on, I got bluffed out of a pretty big pot going with my read (which ended up being wrong, meh), only to have the girl who bluffed me get up less than 10 minutes later (after winning 2 more pretty large pots). Turns out it was this chick: http://www.cardplayer.com/players/results/...roblewski/55258 I read her as so comfortable in the hand because she was comfortable. She had just won event 9 for 300k+. Her leaving broke the game so I left stuck a little bit and went to sleep at around 4am.Ridiculous moment of the day:Jean Robert Bellande trying to talk someone into a ridiculous staking arangement for the main event and declaring himself "a 2-1 favorite over the field". I have no idea if this means he thinks he's 2-1 over the average player or over the entire field, but I think it's hilarious either way. Even better was that as he said this, he was clutching about 3.5k in chips like his life depended on it.Saturday- Woke up at 11, showered and headed down to the bellagio to play 10-20 NL.- Got a game pretty quickly at a newly opened must move to the must move table. Played my game, getting solid value out of my good hands which were unfortunately pretty few and far between. James woods sat at my table for about an hour. He was not impressive. His girlfriend was. After a few guys asked him about movies he had done, I, very deadpan and very loud, said "I loved you in Family Guy". He thought this was hilarious and we talked for a bit. Apparently he will be in the next season as well. I did very well in the session and left around 5:30pm when i was getting moved to the main table - which did not look like a good game at all. Memorable moments included making a big call down on a swede trying to bluff me on a very scary board with 4 high. I would never have called his river bet if he didn't tell me where he was from. I think that makes me at least as big of a racist as DN. Go me.- Went to dinner at Spago in caesar's. Pretty tasty. - Went back to the bellagio and hooked up with JC, Justin, Waco, Seth (cardcore)and the recently busted Tmay (who almost tore a door off its hinges). Fidler also happenned to be there chatting up a lovely young lady. Good times all around.- Tried and get back in a 10-20 game and there was a 50 person waiting list. At least 10 of the tables in the main poker room were running $3k sngs for the main event, and there were still unbroken day1a tables in the room, so cash games were sparse. I decided to try the Wynn.- Got a 5-10 game at the Wynn pretty quickly and played until 2am (started to get tired, which probably isn't a great idea with that much money on the table). There were several locals in the game, as well as a younger online player who actually final tabled a sunday major yesterday (Johnnycashout2). The only money flowing in was coming from a couple of "hedge fund guys" who each came and dropped about 800 after busting out of a private tournament the wynn was holding for them upstairs. Despite the tough game, I ended up almost a buy in and recouped my 5-10 losses from caesar's. - Went to sleep got up, got on a plane, and came home.... I can't wait to go backHilarious moment of the day:JC talking about how he and waco are running, JC: "He can't help but run aces into kings. I haven't run Aces into anything in months." Someoneelse: "Like you don't run good" JC: "Oh, if I raise KQ it's coming 9TJ for sure."
