I was hoping to get an opinion from Daniel on this. Have you or do you expect to receive any flack for promoting a gambling video game that is primarily played on a kids game player? I know that many, many people over 21 play Xbox and PS2, but i gotta believe that the vast majority of game players are kids. Will the pqackaging have a disclaimer or will it be sold to only over 21? What if someone brought a lawsuit claiming their child got hooked on gambling from a video game? This day and age people sue and get compensated for far less. Not judging here, just wondering if you had any thoughts on this? Perry

My 10 year old cousin played a game where the character could fly and now she's allways jumping out of windows and flying around. It's really annoying.

I'm sure a gambling game isn't half as bad as the other type on the market, ie. the Grand Theft Auto series

GTA rules. Of course I'm hooked on stealing cars, beating hoes, and killin cops, but I was hooked on that long before a GTA came out.

World Championship Poker is already out, kids play it, just like kids play hold'em with friends. It's going to happen. If they like poker, they'll play Stacked. They're already addicted.

i am a pre law student and have been interested in this question also. i'm actually thinking about doing my thesis on it or something similar. i'm looking forward to seeing if daniel awnsers. while i personally don't think that video games lead to bad behavior in children there is evidence to support the claim. (lawsuits as well though most were settled out of court.) I'd be interested to see what rating the game will be given.

STACKED isn't a gambling game at all, it's a poker game. Poker is a game you can gamble at, but as I've pointed out before you can gamble on Monopoly, Hop Scotch, Tennis, Math Test Scores, etc. There is nothing to worry about in that area because realistically, you could make a point to say that any kid who did anything competitvely could be lead towards gambling. Are we going to stop kids from playing baseball because it may make them competitive and turn them to gambling? I don't think so. Some conservatives may have a problem with kids playing poker, but they are truly missing the bigger picture IMO.

Well....that's slightly disingenuous.Betting is an intregal of poker which is a game strictly built around gambling. It's the scoring method after all. While I think it's about as likely that a kid will become a compulsive gambler because he playes a poker video game as it is that catholic school boys will become nuns because they're taught by them, it's clearly going to be more of a concern than them becoming compulsive hop Scotch gamblers.
