Turbo Sng Strategy

All,I've been playing Pokerstars SNG almost exclusively the past 6 months (I was Party Poker player before). My SNG stats: 12+1 (6 handed) = 380 games, 24% ROI15+1 Turbo (9 handed) = 20 games, -12% ROI23+2 (6 handed) = 5 games, 33% ROI Overall = 405 games, 17% ROIPreviously on Party my ROI for SNG's was similiar; over about 2000 games was probably between 17% and 22% so I'm guessing my current ROI in 12+1 6 handed games is a little high. I'm guessing my ROI at these levels over the long term is 17% - 20%.I digress...I hate playing the Turbo's because I don't think they are Poker and early returns suggest I"m not good at them. But I see players that play only turbo SNG's and are successful and my ego forces me to want to learn to beat them.Any players out there have a succesful strategy playing low level turbo SNG"s?Thanks,rusmac31

Wait for big hands early on (play tight, but aggressive when you choose to play)When the blinds start to increase, open up your raising range and look to take down pots uncontested.When the blinds are very high, or it gets down to the bubble, look to steal blinds often, but be careful not to over do it as many players will eventually just call your all in with the first Ace they see.I find that this strategy has helped me be successful on FTP and AP's turbo SNG's.Wait for big hands when the blinds are small, and loosen up when the blinds increase.Alternatively I have heard the strategy about seeing many flops while the blinds are small, and become even more aggressive as blinds increase.I have seen both strategies be effective. The quality of play is not very high at these levels, so if your patient and pick your spots, you should be fine.

SNG power tools.you are right, they are not real poker. they are a math equation. SNGPT is the answer to that equation.

Turbos are often times crapshoots. Just try to build a stack to get into the money, and then just pray the cards come.

yes and no. they are kind of crapshoots, but you can play them optimally. SNGs in general are crapshoots. the key to SNGs is to play tight until the ICM comes into play. in turbos it just comes into play earlier.OP, 20 is not a big enough sample size to base anything on.

I'm confused.I get dealt two cards, and there are 4 rounds of betting where we get to see comminity cards.Somehow people make money by taking +EV situations, and capitalizing on other's mistakes.Pretty sure that's poker, by definition.
