I generally play hands pretty aggressively although l had a pretty bad feeling about this one. I generally hate playing big pairs out of position for big pots. My image at the table is very TAG (I hadn't been getting many hands and I was running closer to 11/4 compared to my usual 18/7.5). Villain is somewhat unknown to me - this hand came after only a few orbits and he'd been running fairly TAG and I had not seen him get out of line.Generally I don't play so weakly but I really felt like I was beaten here and decided to pick a better spot. I'm curious to see how others would play this hand? Bet more on flop and shove to a raise? I doubted the villain had JJ-AA as he probably would have 3-bet preflop. TT is possible but that's really all I beat (I considered the flush draw less likely as I had the Ad). This hand smelled like a set and when the turn put 4 to the straight out, I just threw it away. Looking back on it, I'm not really happy with the way I played it. Thoughts?

I bet more on the flop, and I 3-bet the hell out of that flop. I don't know if I would be able to get away from this hand, he's pushing most draws on this board hard, I reraise then re-evaluate if he pushes the flop.

I would reraise the flop.It's so draw heavy that he could be making this move with a plethora of hands that we are ahead of.

Just a general comment. If you're 3-betting a big hand on a draw heavy board you should basically never be folding it to a 4-bet unless you're very deep.I like just calling the flop and either either leading or crai on a safe turn. As is this seems like a pretty def fold.

I don't think a competent villain minraises the flop with a draw. (Of course, not all the villains are competent.)I think this is a hand like TT a lot.I'm not sure what you were looking for on the turn. The villain probably puts you on unimproved overcards, so I think his bet on the turn doesn't tell you anything new. What I'm getting at here is why call the raise on the flop if you're going to fold to a weak bet on the turn?On the other hand, there are worse sins than folding the best hand if it's one pair.

Actually, unless action had been really slow, I'd raise more preflop. As it stands, your hand can't mature fast enough now to beat a straight. --- However, if I'm villain and I played 7-8 suited, this is how I play it. Your pattern indicates overs and if I'm the villain, I have tremendous confidence in my two pair right now. If paint hits the river, you could get a free showdown.

I don't know how I feel about all of this. I guess I'm ok with it. It's good to see people willing to bail out on AA on a board like that without putting in half of their stack first.
