The problem is that you probably put him on an overpair here and you called to hit your set. You got a flop that looks good for your hand, but it's likely a bad flop since you were losing to begin with.If you thought you were ahead preflop, then you can raise here. I personally don't think you were. If I'm OOP, I'm probably check-folding this fairly often becuase his hand screams "big pair" to me. You should have the ability to fold a hand like JJ on this board.The price is cheap and I might take one off and then fold if he makes another bet on the turn.

I play like a donkey, so you don't want to take my advice, but...You checked... you checked hoping to get checked back to take a card off. It didn't work out.

Okay so this seems clear cut to me....players online minraise mostly with a weak ace ,low-mid pocket pairs or big pairs aa-kk.....when you reraised and he reraised you back he was telling you I have aa or kk....if he had called your reraise preflop he would have either Ax or the pocket pair....your real problem is you could still be losing in case 2 as he may have hit his set here....I say he has aa-kk you should have folded here......next time try to smooth call the raiser then check to him post flop he will make a continuation bet post flop call and see what happens on the turn before you deifne your hand it will save you some cash in the long run...really jacks are tough to play especially if you are weak post flop.......such a good hand it makes it easy to go broke with..don't lose it all with just JJ

I like this line, his C-bet is less than his preflop raise. It seems like there is a decent enough chance he has AK and is trying to make us go away cheaply. I like taking one off and see what he does on the turn.

Call. That was a small bet into a heavily contested pot pre-flop. That's not normal for aa or kk at this level. Definitely possible to be ak or even something like 1010 considering the q8 hand this villian got involved w/. I think there's a good chance you're ahead and it's 100% worth going to the turn. He may even check down qq after the initial flop bet.

I understand what you're saying, except the bolded. I did just call his re-re-raise, and I did check to him on the flop. If you're saying that I shouldn't re-raise his min-open raise PF with jacks, well I think that's just crazy. The other thing about this hand is that villain is short. He has about $30 behind, so after his PF and post flop bets he has less than $20 left. I think if I call his flop bet he's pushing the turn if I check again, and floating him on the flop and leading the turn is just silly cuz he'll probably push that too. In this situation, with his short stack, I felt like he was putting his whole stack in if I wanted to see it, so my play was either to raise him all in here or just fold.
