I get kinda tired of the junk that the Illinois state forces Casinos into. It makes playing at Hollywood in Aurora not so enjoyable. I am looking for options in play around the Chicago area if anyone knows of any.I know I could play Indiana, but that is really far compared to where I live.knickell@yahoo.com

I may be visiting the Chicago area in a couple of weeks. What do you mean by the stuff that IL makes the casinos do? What I have noticed in my limited research is the casinos in the greater chicago area seem to have high low limit tables meaning the lowest is either 3/6 or 5/10. Is there any particular reason for this?

Yes, the reason for the limit is so they can rake more from each pot.The places to play in the Chicago-land area are Trump and Harrahs. Trump is in Gary, and Harrahs is in East Chicago. They are only 1 exit away from each other. The drive is about 25 minutes from downtown Chicago.

Yeah - Indiana is way better to play. I play at Hollywood in Aurora. They make you pay $5 to just get on the boat, then they rake $6 from each hand. Usually $5-$10 and $10-$20 going. No Limit is illegal in IL. Hollywood has a Wednesday tourney with 80 people and 150 buy-in, but the casino takes so much from the players on this, as well as the blinds go up so fast with an inadequate starting chip count. They easily get 80 each week though. If you want to make money there, go just after the tournament starts and play cash games....I am looking for more of an "unadvertised" place to play in Chicago. Anyone know?
