Honestly, and I didnt watch the whole game but did see most and I did see 2 of Mueller's goals....I think Marchant played better! The goals were nothing special, Bryzgalov was weak on one of them, and Mueller didnt seem to stand out. But yeah, hat trick not being top 3 does seem strange.

This is my complaint. the guy got a HAT TRICK. I don't care how fortunate it was that he managed it, YOU GET A STAR IF YOU HAVE THREE GOALS.the media so often butchers the three stars, I guess it shouldn't surprise me...

The problem here is that it's a home town pick. When a game goes to OT, the three stars are picked prior to the end of the third. Then, the usual method is that the goal scorer in OT gets either second or third star. Since it would be a hometown media person picking the stars, they chose to REPLACE the Phoenix second star (Which would likely have been Mueller) with the OT goal scorer (Doan). In reality, he should likely have bumped one of the two Ducks. But that's a hometown pick for ya. Like Joe Bowen picking two leafs in a five goal loss (yes, it's happened.)

For the record, Marchant played an excellent game.

Awful, awful game. Once again "exciting hockey" does not equal turnovers and poor goaltending.

Kudos to all the NHL GM's who passed on Peter Forsberg..... to my knowledge, only two GMs actually made a play for him. Toronto was one...

Big money teams such as the Leafs and Rangers should be offering the scouts for Colorado, New Jersey and Detroit long term, million dollar contracts. Not only would they get great prospects, they would potentially save money long term by avoiding overpaying for free agents. Not a new observation, but I still think it is a good one.

just got in with a chat with Barry Melrose:Adam (Durham, New Hampshire): Do you agree with the Tocchet resolution or should he have been kept out of the league for longer/less? Barry Melrose: (3:28 PM ET ) Two years is a long time. If they find he bet on hockey, I think it should be for longer, but there's no proof so far. It's a pretty severe penalty. He's a good guy who loves the sport and who has given his life to the sport, and I want him to get a second chance.

Lets be honest..What Tocchet did was nothing compared to so many other crimes..This maybe stupid posting it on a "poker" forum and most of us gamble on sports everyday but its ridicolous....Even if he bet on hockey, obviously its not good but if he doesnt bet on games he has a control over big deal...I am positive a lot of NHL players bet on sports and some on hockey...The Mark Bell incident is something closer to the Leafs fan but he got "only " 15 games and Tocchet is essentially been banned from the game 2 years..and do I need to bring up Heatley again?

Yes, please bring up Heatley again and tell us about how he was speeding. Be sure to include how the Snyders didn't even want to see heatley punished.
