Under_Score 0
...if they actually wanted a call? I know this is an Uber-simplification but sometimes an overbet(is this a term?) like this is sooo easy to read when reviewing hands here on the board but how can you see them in game situations? I don't really know what I am saying I basicaly am just looking for good stories about all ins.
custom36 5
No, some think that because they will call anything, surely you will call anything.
akishore 0
well, some newbs who are new to poker have no concept of slowplaying or extracting value, so they actually push really hard with monster hands. since they also don't have any concept of betting relative to the pot, sometimes they just see their aces full and go "all-in!" because we all know they're very cool when they say that and everyone folds and they feel all powerful that they show their pocket aces and drag the tiny pot with a beaming smile.aseem
dms26 3
In low limits you can often get a guy to call any size bet if he already has money in the pot. I've seen guys call an all in on the 2nd hand of a SNG with AQo. So it can be effective against certain players, just gotta know which ones can't lay down hands preflop. Emptyeye 0
Yeah, you can go several levels deep with this. For instance, you think no competent player would possibly push in with the nuts. If I know this, what am I going to do? That's right, push in with the nuts, knowing that you'll think "No competent player would push in with the nuts, he's full of ****, I call."And yes, at micro-limits, people will call with most anything (Which is why "wait for aces or kings and push them pre-flop" is actually a profitable micro-limit strategy.). rog 0
All in is the new slowplay. At the fishier tables, you're almost guaranteed a caller in almost any situation with almost any bet. I dont play much NL, but when I do, I often find the direct approach simply works better. If I find I have a table full of rocks, that goes out the window of course. At higher limits I can only assume slow-playing has greater value.
Petoria 0
Last night i'm in a NL tourney, I'm in the small blind with J3. I have a 10 to 1 chip lead on the BB. Everyone folds around to me, I decide to pull the random all in. He calls with Q9, I lose, and I feel like a jacka$$.
