In 1985, to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Le Club de hockey Canadiens, an all-time Dream Team was composed based upon fan balloting.

The results:

G - Jacques Plante
D - Doug Harvey
D - Larry Robinson
LW - Dickie Moore
C - Jean Beliveau
RW - Maurice Richard
Coach - Toe Blake

The Canadiens franchise is probably the most difficult to narrow down to 5 players.

What's your favourite team's dream team?

Coach - Bob Johnson

Wow... that was tough... so many great players left out, lol. It was all of the top of my head though, so if I missed someone, that's why.

G Felix Potvin (I was a huge fan of that team, loads of heart)

D Borje Salming (poor guy, had to play on so many crappy teams)
D Al Iafrate (hey, what can I say, his end to end rushes were exciting to watch)

LW Wendel Clark (best fighting % in NHL history, plus he could score and hit)
C Doug Gilmour (Killer was a smooth skater with loads of grit)
RW Vincent Damphousse (underrated player in my opinion, had a solid career in the NHL)

It's pretty sad that I don't really have a place in my heart for any of the current Leaf players. The closest I come is Darcy Tucker or maybe Thomas Kaberle...

Young or not, that forward line is money and the coach is one of the best ever IMO.

I did OTR with Vaive, yesterday, serge. He said to tell you that the people who bought his last house called, and wanted him to let you know that he doesn't live there anymore, so could you please stop peeking in the bathroom window?

I LOVE RICK VAIVE...Did you ask him how Jeff is doing?I met Rick on several occasions and have several autographs...I am pretty sure I am his number fan..by far..

My love for Wellwood is dwarfed by my fanatism for Rick Vaive.

Since I see retired players I'll assume we're talking about players in their prime playing in todays conditions. Leadership, vision, heart, and skill make up my five.

Goalie

D Ray Bourque
D Chris Chelios

LW Mario Lemieux
C Wayne Gretzky
RW Mark Messier

Luongo

Ohlund
Snepts

Bure
Linden
Naslund

Some tough choices on D, the Canucks have never had any Hall of Famer D, but they have a lot of pretty good ones. I put Snepts on because I have met him and he was a good guy. Ohlund is my favourite player. Very tough to leave off Smyle.
