1/2 NL Hold'em, 6 max table, Noble Poker.I'm in the BB, player A is SB. We both have about $150 at the table. No read on him yet.I'm dealt Ah 5c offsuitFolded to the button, who calls. SB completes and I check.Flop: 9d-5d-3hChecked around.Turn: 5sSB bets out $15, I raise to $35. Button folds, SB calls.River: JdSB bets our $20. I just called, thinking he may have J5 or 95 or 53 since he got in cheap.*Results removed for the rest of ya* ;)Should I have raised him on the river? The other players at the table had been pretty loose (calling UTG with 10-7, even after a raise). Thanks.

You should've been more worried about the diamond draw than those random hands you mentioned.Anyway, I would've liked a raise on the river myself. The bet on the turn tells me he's probably not betting just a draw, and I'll pay off those random hands you mentioned.

I'm in the BB, player A is SB. We both have about $150 at the table. No read on him yet. I'm dealt Ah 5c offsuit Folded to the button, who calls. SB completes and I check. I actually like to raise right here to take control of the hand since you will be somewhat out of positionFlop: 9d-5d-3h Checked around. MPTK in a small pot, I'd bet if I raised it PF but thats how I would have played it. But I'd check also as the board is harmless right now and you have barely anything invested in the pot.Turn: 5s SB bets out $15, I raise to $35. Button folds, SB calls. Are you playing with a monkey? The doucheclown overbet the pot and then you reraised an amount that was more than the pot. . .but okay I can live with that but I still don't like it.River: Jd SB bets our $20. I just called, thinking he may have J5 or 95 or 53 since he got in cheap. Now after the circus type bets after the turn the pot has $76 and he bets a little less than 1/4 of the pot which to me seems ridiculous after his 5/2 overbet of the pot on the turn so I would pop it up to 2/3 the size of the pot now so I would raise it to about $64. Unless you have a good read on your opponent and he is capable of thinking on a "higher level" and wants his river bet to seem weak(using the weak lead) and you to raise it up.STOP POSTING THE DAMN RESULTS, you'll get hindsight biased answers

Emptyeye - Yeah, I thought about the diamond draw. But it seemed to me that he wouldn't bet a runner-runner diamond draw and call a reraise of that size.Allinbluff - I overbet the raise because there was no point in raising the minimum in my mind. Sorry about posting the results, I didn't know you guys didn't like that. I'll leave em out next time. :D

yah sorry I didn't even realize that it was barely more than a min. raise, I was still wondering wtf he was doing betting 15 into a 6 pot I guess. The reason you shouldn't post results is because people will usually base there opinions and analysis on the outcome, it's called hindsight bias(i learned something before failing out of college).

you have enough invested that a call is justified. you just hit a really big hand on the turn and he's trying to represent the hand you have. I would just call on the river in case he hit a weird boat or str8.
The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother's keeper and the finder
of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

I like you're raise... you've got a chance to push out the draw, and then call the river bet...you've got trips with top kicker...and it's a weak betPay it off
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Ah, no str8 draw Petoria...and the diamond draw wasn't runner runner. He might've checked to get a free card on the flop, then when checked around went ahead and semi-bluffed the turn with the draw hoping to take it down there. After your reraise, and he hits his hand on the river, he bets small hoping you'll reraise again. I'd call anyway, but it makes sense to me that he had a flush draw.
