SlackerInc 0
As we have established in the Strat Tourney thread. :)PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (3 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)SB (t2610)Hero (t3460)Button (t2930)Preflop: Hero is BB with 9, 2. 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks.Flop: (t300) J, 2, J(2 players)SB checks, Hero bets t150, SB raises to t300, Hero calls t150.Turn: (t900) J(2 players)SB bets t150, Hero raises to t450, SB raises to t750, Hero calls t300.River: (t2400) 3(2 players)SB bets t1410 (All-In), Hero...?On the flop, this is the same kind of scenario as in a hand I folded in the strat tourney: I hit the other card on a paired board. In this hand, though, it turns into a full boat. The case jack seems unlikely, of course; but any pp has me screwed as well.ETA: We're on the bubble, which might make a difference. XXEddie 0
Fold to the turn re-raise, if not sooneras played, INEC....fold. Why would you call??? In hopes villian also had a 2 and your chopping.I may even fold when villian leads the turn
SlackerInc 0
This post originally contained a question that I since figured out. But Eddie, let me ask: you don't think an ace might play this way? Or a bluff from someone who thinks I may easily just have an ace or something, or who is just out of line? This is a three dollar tourney after all.

This is a three dollar tourney after all.I can't see anything other than A high that you can beat and I do not think the hand would have gone down that way if he had that. He's raising you every street, I probably would have folded on the turn like Eddie. I'd easily be in check/fold mode by the turn. Any reads on the guys betting patterns - when he's bluffing etc? SlackerInc 0
Any reads on the guys betting patterns - when he's bluffing etc?No, I hadn't been paying too close attention as I was watching "Tilt" on ESPN2, lol (never knew about that show until just the other day). But there are a lot of aggro-donks in these $3 turbos, so I tend to be sceptical of them a lot of times unless I specifically notice they are tight/straightforward.
Zach6668 513
This hand is really bad....I would fold to the flop raise. If not, then to the turn bet.If not, then to the turn reraise. It's NOT CLOSE.

SlackerInc 0
I did feel very uneasy about staying with this hand, and in fact sheepish when I did in fact call the river (though I did stay with it in part because I was smarting from feeling like I had been weak-tight in the hands with tskillz). And all your responses are reinforcing that sheepishness. Still--and I don't mean to be result oriented here--it did work out: villain had something like QT, and I got a nice pot and went on to win the SNG. (Good read, or just good luck?) cubbybri 0
I think good luck. I just don't like fact, in most circumstances, you can only beat Ace high. He played the hand like he was much stronger and without a read( i haven't read about one except the betting which says he is stronger than you) you are calling off praying he has only an ace.Result was good. I guess if you played the hand the way you did, you can call at the river since you are playing like the 2s will stand and that he is bluffing but I would have been out of this hand much earlier. Some just can't let a full house go, because it's a full house. Zach6668 513
I hear that.I don't think you're one of those people. There are some people who can't fold straights when they have like T2o and the board is 34568 with 4 diamonds, etc.

Actually, I was thinking about that earlier when I kind of gave myself a pat on the back for folding a straight. There were three connected cards on the board (my two were the bottom or "idiot end"), four of some suit I didn't have, and a paired board to boot! There's always the chance that my opponent just had two pair or trips or whatever (I never got to see), but I sure wasn't going to call his sizable bet to find out.
tskillz187 0
What a crazy call. You're such a whacky player, all I know is you are +$3.50ish in FCP strat tourneys and I'm -$5.50.

You said either he had A high or he was trying to bluffing thinking YOU had A high.It is blind v. blind and neither one of you raised preflop. Either of you having an ace is unlikely.6 outta 10 times, villian has a J2 outta 10 times, villian has a PP giving him a higher fullhouse1 outta 10 times, villian also has a 2 and you chop1 outta 10 times, he is bluffing
