I just sat down for a few hands before going to class. Only read is that in 5 hands villian had folded every time. Table in general was fairly tight. I had played one hand but forced to lay down set on the river w/4 straight on the board in a decent pot.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)

BB ($9.85)
UTG ($9.90)
UTG+1 ($5.50)
MP1 ($15.85)
MP2 ($10.90)
CO ($16.10)
Hero ($7.60)
SB ($10.05)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A icon_suit_spade.gif , J icon_suit_heart.gif .
UTG raises to $0.2, UTG+1 calls $0.20, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.20, 1 fold, BB calls $0.10.

Flop: ($0.85) J icon_suit_spade.gif , 7 icon_suit_heart.gif , 9 icon_suit_heart.gif (4 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $0.7, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to $2, BB folds, UTG raises to $3.3, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $6.15

EDIT- oh yeah it was an insta raise too

Looks standard. He's representing QQ+ and you've got no read to indicate otherwise.

He is definately representing the QQ+ preflop but with the min raise preflop from UTG it could be a wider range. obv could be the silly min raise to induce a reraise, but could easily be something like AK, AQ, or TJ, KJ, KT, or lower pp, i could see a call here with TPTK since the range is wide, he could have the bigger pair but i think more often than not you could be ahaed here

It's not just his pf raise that represents JJ+ - it's his flop action as well. His flop 3bet tells us that he has TPTK beat. Now if villain is a donk then we can fight back because we know he could be doing a lot of things; he could have a weaker jack, he could be overplaying AK, or he could think we're bluffing so he's going to showdown his pair of sevens come hell or high water.

But without any such read continuing in this hand cannot be +EV. At best we are 3:5-1 dogs to KK and QQ; against AA and JJ we are all but doomed.
