The rookies that get the attention are Malkin and Staal in Pittsburgh

However third in rookie scoring with 24 is Dustin Penner...Should score 30 goals this year...

He has been uber hot lately. I was going to post a thread just for you actually as I recall some master debating earlier in the year on how many he'd finish with. He's really finding his game of late, which involves standing in front of the net to deflect point shots or tap in rebounds. He cannot be moved. He's been impressive driving to the net as well however as he dragged 2 Milwaukee Predators last night with him for a scoring chance into the crease. Bill Guerin orly? Undrafted 6'4 Free Agent rookies who score goals own.

Dustin Penner will help the Mustangs strive for mediocrity in the years to come. Combined with your aging, high-priced talent and your less than mediocre role players you will find yourself in the same position you are in today, that is, starting "What would have been had the Mustangs made the playoffs" threads. Congratulations.

Who you planning on calling up from your farm team next season? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Plan on calling up...

Kris Beech...right now playing on the main line with Ovy and Semin
Blair Betts...Consistently moving up the depth chart, no longer a defensive forward
Brandon Reid and or Jeremy Williams

This will complement my already young group of forwards(by the way young doesnt have to be 15 like your players)
Maxim Afinogenov
Kyle Wellwood
Brian Gionta
Dustin Penner
Chuck Kobasew(he will break out in boston next year...)guaranteed 30 goals
it looks like I will sign Paul Kariya (who by the way is only 31) not that old these days

Enough said monkey boy....Who will you have next year the OHL scoring champ?European dart champion?Sudbury Wolves Mascot?

Last time I checked our pool has NHL players...Your team is lacking those...

by the way how did you end up this year...??

That is what he does well and he has been doing it very well of late. I do not think Penner is a great all around player but when he gets in that zone of his he is tough to stop. Not to mention a lot of people have not done a lot to stop him(one goals in LA, one against San Jose and the goal he had against Nashville last night). Also Niedermayer is so damn good at finding him in front of the net it is scary. He does his job great.

I still think though he is the 4th best rookie in this class behind Malkin, Kopitar and Stastny. Then again although he is technically a rookie as he did not play 25 games last year in the regular season he performance in the playoffs I really do not see Penner as a rookie.
Jack Johnson cannot play defense.

ESPN.com has Penner as 5th in the league in Rookie scoring behind Malkin, Stastny, Kopitar, and Wolski.

He's projected to get 29 goals so he's going to have to step up his pace to make it to 30.

thats in points...in goals he is third..and he has the hottest one of the bunch in the last two weeks...Projections are a stupid stat...you can say he will score 50 goals if he keeps up the pace in the last week..

I see him scoring 32 goals..

Brandon Reid and or Jeremy Williams Brandon Reid? German and Swiss league points don't count. Williams will only be a desperation callup again next season.

Projections are stupid early in the season, at this point I would say generally they are pretty accurate. He could score 40 for all we know but the chances are won't be to far from the projection.

btw in the last 2 weeks Penner is only second on that list to Stastny 12 points to 7 points in 7 games each. Staal and Malkin have been slumping with 7 points total over 7 games.

I may have missed the playoffs, but are seasons were not the same..

I created excitement not only for myself, but for my fans..meanwhile 75% of the games you played were meaningless...If it want for Tucker you probably end up with 10 fewer wins...

Good job though..maybe next year you will be eliminated in january

75%? So you're claiming that only 20 of the games I played were meaningful? That's interesting because I was ahead of you in the standings after the 20-game point of the season. I could argue that had it not been for the numerous injuries I had I would have finished ahead of you in the standings.

Additionally, the fact that you believe a game is meaningless only shows your lack of foresight.
Latendresse's PPG is .300 and that looks like it will put him in Group 3 allowing me to sign him for $1.75 for each of the next 5 years. That is huge when you consider his starting salary was $1.50. I realize this is something you probably can't comprehend.

And you keep saying "if it weren't for Tucker"... Darcy Tucker is a member of the Canadian Gothic. He was acquired for Nick Boynton; perhaps one of the best deals of the season. Your claiming I wouldn't have as many wins without him is both accurate and moot (look that one up under 'M'). How many wins would you have without Chris Pronger? Perhaps we'll find out next season.

I actually understand the salary structures a lot better than you think I do...

I took a look at your team and its a lot worse than I thought..You have no actual players that can play other than Tucker...the rest of them are fillers and prospects

Ah, ok. I know he was a scratch against the Pens a few weeks ago.

Funny (read: depressing), he was our "prize" in the Jagr trade.
