i like it a lot. Everyone limped, this is a pretty safe spot for our set so it's ok to slowplay to the turn.do you have any read on the button? If he's aggressive, I think we can definitely push our set here and call a cap as Ax 2pair is a reasonable hand here. If it's someone tight, I would call. a 4,5 is a very realistic possibility here, so is two pair with an Ace, and finally a really slowplayed set, which i'm not worried about at all.

I had played with him for about 5 minutes. He had been very Loose-Passive.Called down a lot.Hadn't seen him raise yet.--cm

Do you never raise here preflop to isolate? I've been finding myself doing this lately but maybe my range of hands is too wide. What is your cutoff as far as pocket pairs go for doing this?

in SH , do you want to limp 33 here after a limper? Was the table playing like this, where you expect at least 4/5 to the flop and little chance of a raise to punish you, from lp players?I 3-bet that river.I like your flop play, dry board and players left to act, may be 3-bet by sb.

I agree with your point. If I think I can isolate the limper, I am happy to do so with any pair in position. But as you suggested, the table dynamics were not conducive to such a play at that particular time.It was one of the rare times I overlimped with a pair.
Three bet river, he could just as easily have aces up as 4 5 here.
I think I might lean this way too now.Villain's river raise could mean many more things than one of the 4 hands that beat me.I see value in a 3bet.Villain had 54 and I lost a big pot.--cm

pretty bad of him not to 3-bet the flop
Why is 3betting the flop the best play for Button with his open-ender?- It thins the field and reduces implied odds if he hits.- He has no need to clean outs since pairing his 5 or 4 won't amount to a win against this field.- I don't think it gives him much fold equity as someone is probably seeing showdown with him.- 3betting opens it up for someone to cap.Making a 3-bet play for a free card seems like it risks too much for the small saving that it is hoping for.Deosn't seem like a profitable play for him. Please explain.--cm

Aren't we about 30% to win? I wouldn't say it succks to 3-bet a oesd rainbow flop with 5 players in the hand.
Yah, meh, it's close. I don't like shutting out SB and BB though.
