There are a lot of amazing singers in the world. I've made a small list in no particular order of people that have voices that I could listen to all day. There's a lot of people that I'm leaving off as I can't think of all of them off the top of my head. I do have a question about one of them though. I just started really listening to Donny Hathaway's stuff. Absolutely love his voice. Is there anyone else that sings that style that anyone would recommend?

1. Donny Hathaway
2. Brian Mcknight
3. Luther Vandross
4. Those 2 guys from Boys II Men
5. B.B. King
6. Seal
7. Gregg Allman
8. Elvis (certain songs, especially If I can Dream)
9. Billie Holliday

10. Dude from Coldplay (say what you want)
11. Michael Mcdonald
12. Josh Groban
13. Michael Buble
14. Frank Sinatra
15. Tony Bennett
16. Stevie Wonder
17. Billy Joel (younger)
18. Pavarotti
19. Bocelli
20. Jason Mraz
21. Jonny Lang
22. Aretha Franklin
23. Diana Ross
24. Mariah Carey
25. Whitney Houston
26. Christina Aguilara
27. Marvin Gaye
28. Michael Jackson

Make love to a real woman.

I agree with you on that guy from Coldplay, even if it is gay.

No list of great singers can be complete without Chris Cornell, that guy from Bloc Party and Nancy Wilson.

*Edit - Whitney Houston used to have an amazing voice but smoking crack has killed her vocal cords and sadly her 8 octave range is probably more like 2 octaves now.

I never thought of Elvis as an amazing singer, he was a lot of flash without the substance to back it up to me.

Steve,

It doesn't matter who you start because you have a horse shoe up your ass so far I'm not really sure how you get through the day. You must be gay.

I'm not disagreeing with your statement in it's entirety but I will say that Elvis was at least as talented as Justin Timberlake.

I love Eddie, but a great singer he is not. Unique, but not great. Same for Bob Dylan, Neil Young, etc...

I can't believe noone has said Bobby Hatfield. Great singer, classic song "Unchained Melody" original version from 1962.

Really, you can't believe that?

I'm gonna throw Jack Black out there. The guy can flat out sing when he's not being psychotic. Well, he can sing when he's being psychotic too, but you know what I mean.

If you're going by pure voices, regardless of genre, then you can add Carrie Underwood, Sara Evans, Charlotte Church, Frankie Valli, Finbar Wright, Anthony Kearns, and Ronan Tynan to that list.
