I keep seeing D.N. talking about playing GoldenTee and was curious if there are any other lovers of the game who frequent this site. Personally, I've been playing it since GoldenTee '95 and can't get enough.Daniel N., would you like to trade some advice with regards to our respective masteries? :-) :wink:

I used to play tons !Won some good money in their tournaments too. I haven't played in quite awhile (basically once they banned smoking in bars here in NY).

Yeah, that stupid no smoking in bars thing has been passed in Toronto as well. They keep saying that bars will be OK because the non-smokers will come back, but every bar I've frequented is wondering where they are and losing huge money. I think the government went overboard with this. Honestly, why are we trying to make bars a nicer environment for the families with children?The law has had serious impacts on the GoldenTee business. I know one bar that lost 90% of their GT revenues. They wound up spending quite a few bucks and put in a smoking room (even knowing that those too will be outlawed in the near future). Since doing that the GT revenue has exceeded what was being taken before the smoking ban as all the smokers from the other bars who couldn't put in a smoking area have moved there. I used to play quite a bit of tournament but not any more. Now I stick mostly to league play. Initially I was making good money off tourney play(about 10k a year) but as the smoking bans kicked in and people played less, the prizes dropped. They used to pay top 40 in Gold division with 40th taking $500. Now they only pay top 25 with 15th-25th getting only $200 :roll: . In Gold division the top 10 average score is a 2 holeout round with around 60k GSP. Not worth trying to chase those scores anymore. I just wait a couple of tournies, drop to silver division, spend $6-$12 and pick up between $150-250.Have you seen GT Live yet? I had a chance to play it and the new tournament format is very appealing.Anyway, what's you best round for tourney/league play?I've got a -18 on tournament (sick that only got me 3rd place in Gold div. :roll: ) and a blind -29 in league as my best rounds.
