Fairly straightforward question. I know he loves PL hold'em, but it could be a book/chapter/section on NL hold'em as well.I was reading another thread about how Mike Sexton is always saying things like "you won't see that in any poker book" after Danny calls with bottom pair after gleaming some kind of tell off an opponent or raises one off the button with 6-3s, and I wondered if there was a book out there that covered that kind of stuff a little more extensively than the rest.THX all...

I've read a lot of poker literature and I've thought about this question before. I really think Doyle's section in SS1 still correlates most to what I've seen of Daniel in NL play and from what I've read of Daniel's posts and such.Doyle talks about making plays that will make your opponents fear you. I think Daniel likes to play this way. When someone tries to steal his blind and he calls with 74o, and eventually shows it down with 2 pair or a straight, opponents think twice about raising his blind. Most poker books tell you to set your cards on fire in that situation because a) they're rags, and B) you're out of position. Doyle and Daniel I think look at it as an opportunity to bust someone holding a so-called premium hand.

I recently re-read Doyle's NL section and it seems somewhat similar to Daniel's style of play. I also thought that Tournament Poker and The Art of War had a lot of philosophies that seem in-line with some of the things Daniel does during tournaments.
