Gambling is a violation of well-established biblical principles. It is poor sportsmanship of what God provides for us. Many gamble hoping to win enough money to quit working, wanting something for nothing violates the work principle given by God. Gambling is theft by consent. Scripture teaches us that gambling leads its participants further and further from the way of God.

While I will still remain on this forum I will no longer be taking part in any gambling related activities and will be withdrawing all my money from various sites immediately.

"I'm probably about an 8-1 to win this thing," says Sam Grizzle.

"Let's have a last longer for whatever you can afford," says Benyamine. "So, like 2 bucks. No! Can we do $10?"

umm. no?

well I guess if you're talking about strictly luck based games like slots, then sure, that argument could hold some weight.

Jesus played poker, its in the bible. He played stud with Luke and John in Mark 4:18 and got his trip 8's sucked out on 4th st. I think that's why he changed the water into wine. He was on tilt and needed a drink.

Poker is an inherently vain game. Any form of competition can be viewed similarly since your goal is to out-do somebody else.
The New Testament is very clear on its stance of merchants and debt collectors and the concept of banks. So while gambling is essentially charging people for entertainment (especially when you're the house or a skilled player in a skill game representing the house) its no different than what a singer would do. Even if entertaining someone for a price is biblically irresponsible, in the form of gambling it seems to cause specific debate.

Do not invest in the stock market either. Oh and I hope you did'nt quit masturbating either, that would really suck. Oh and the bible also said this:

But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst
