is it just me or does this guy drive you nuts? at least 10-15 times per WPT show he says something to the effect of "he can't possibly put him on an Ace because he didn't raise before the flop"... the guy drives me nuts...am i wrong?

You know I don't think I'm ever going to raise preflop with an A heads up, apparently it's the biggest money-maker ever. The guys out there are making plays that Sexton couldn't even dream of. Fire Sexton, bring in Lederer.

What I love is when they call a pocket pair a 'real pair.' "Ohhhhh, look at this! Paul Phillips has a real pair, pocket sevens!" As opposed to what? A fake pair? The 72 off-suited... a rea-- no, wait a minute... that's not a pair at all!And really, do we have to be told to "look at this" every time someone has aces or kings? Does the holecard cam over the entire screen showing them lifting up the aces somehow not prompt the viewer to see that the player has aces?

Moreso they say a "Real Hand"... Which apparently makes 3/4 of the deck very very fake.I really loved when Daniel was announcing though.... They were folding 69s and he's like... WHAT? Why would you fold a great suited connector like that? LOL. Then he says if they're connected at all, they are suited connectors, lol.

Oh my god i hate WPT announcers World series is sooo much better. Everytime the river comes they "oh oh here it is the cash card, the fantasy carcd, 5th street, the river!!" god shut the **** up we know the name of the 5th card. they should make shana hiatt be the announcer

Yeah, she is totally full of crap.If you saw her wsop interview on that other site, i forget which one. But she was also bitching about getting caught bluffing and how her game relies on bluffing, but a good player wouldn't call her down with A high, lmao. Such a whiney little biotch. Stop trying to pollute the minds of spectators and start to play good poker and maybe you'll win something.

Ever seen him play? He's about as bad playing as he is announcing. He's like an overzealous Sklanskian, weak/tight. Only he finds the worst possible spots to call down from the flop. Amazing.

The WSOP guys drive me nuts though. Have you ever noticed how dramatic each street is? ... and HERE COMES THE TURN!! IT'S A THREE OF DIAMONDS!! THAT HELPS NO ONE!! Can you believe that? A complete blank, wow. Wow.Real poker players will probably never be happy with the announcers.

WSOP >>>>> WPT. But thats not saying much. The WPT guys just get way too excited whenever someone hits their hand. Man you've had to see that happen 100's of times before...its not that exciting.Any whoever said they should put Shana Hiatt in the booth to announce is crazy...she should take over for that Linda Johnson broad who walks around the table...you know what I changed my mind, get her up on the table, and those poker players can get out some Ben Franklins out for her.

Funniest bit about mike sexton is every single move is a bold play, "wow a bold play right there by gus hansen, folding the 3 10 offsuit"or"oh my what great poker we are witnessing here, he goes all in with pocket aces, what a bold play"and then there is my favourite, when someone makes a stupid bluff,"you at home may me thiknig thats bad poker, but if his opponeent would have folded he would have taken down the pot there and then"AT least shana hiatt sounds (looks?) good

Mike Sexton is a former and may still be considered to be a professional poker player. I have more respect for him than any other announcer(I consider lederer a poker player who sometimes acts as an annoncer, of course he is much better). The fact that he says hes surprised when someone doesnt raise with an ace in a heads up match is because that used to be a very standard play and most people expect you to do it. People still raise with them to this day in any tourney, especially SNGs. I usually call them and bluff them out if an ace doesnt hit the board, at least I try to. Many players have developed and decided not to raise with A-rag heads up because it makes your hand extremely visible, and you are only going to get called if an ace flops when you are beaten by a bigger ace or better.Respect those who came before you and those who mastered the game to a higher level than you have and might not ever reach.Half the shi.t these announcers spout anyways is dumbed down via wpt regulations so that the masses can watch, hence, vince van patten...Go do a soap opera and get the **** out of the poker world...Did anyone see him on the E! celebrity poker? What a chump

seriously, as old school as the guy may be how can he watch tourney after tourney after tournney spouting his same old "he couldn't possibly put him on an Ace crap" without maybe realizing that poker players (pros or wannabe pros) MIGHT NOT raise with an Ace in the hole... i respect those who "came before me," but i'm not gonna ever respect a "poker player" who might not ever consider that the guy he is playing heads-up might just called with an Ace...
