Oh no, don't break my heart Serge. Can I at least come watch the parade this June?
But anyways I think this is a pretty solid trade for the Habs, I've just done a bit of checking on Gorges and while not an offensive power him plus a first rounder is pretty good for a guy we didn't really want anyways.

That first rounder wont mean a thing with spot San Jose is in.

Yeah, because no good player was ever drafted late in the first round. Especially in a deep draft.

haha step back from your alliances for a second. It's a relatively weak draft and they're not going to get an immediate impact player, who knows maybe they pick a great gem with those pro scouts of theirs (after all it is their job) but I think it's safe to say the pick could go either way.

2007 is not a weak draft. Your sources are drunk.
Also, they can offer Rivet a contract if they really want him back.
My "alliances" don't blind me like Serge.

This is an extremely deep draft btw. Not to mention any pick in any round can go either way. The only way to even out the variance so to speak is to have as many picks as possible.

the scouts seem pretty divided on this years draft class. many are saying its weak as there is no top end malkin, crobsy, ovechkin type talents but then its very, very deep with solid prospects, with a top 45 who should be good nhlers.
deep but unspectacular is the word, which is ideal for those teams picking up late 1sts in trades as they are as likely to find a gem in the 30th spot as the 15th.
Weight loss bet:
Start weight (10/01/2011) - 199.0lbs
Current weight (31/01/2011) - 194.2lbs

Vlasic is 19 and plays a ton of minutes. Even if Rivet eats up some of those minutes it's not going to hurt Vlasic at all. When he is in his mid-20's he's going to be a top-pairing defenseman that gets PP and PK time.

if by "star" you mean future 4th or 5th defenceman, then yes he's a future "star"
Considering the Sharks have NJ's 1st round pick this year, this trade seems good. To be honest though, I don't know much about Rivet. What should I expect to see from him?

Steady with an occassional mistake here and there. Will chip in with a point every now and then. Not overly physical but not a pushover.
