This kind of stuff doesn't happen enough anymore in the new NHL...man is it fun to watch though !!!

Mair just went nuts trying to get to Spezza, that was uncalled for.

And who the heck is this guy Patrick Kaleta ??? WTF ??? Phillips pwns this kid...ROOKIE !!!!

For the record, Neil's hit on Drury was clean imo...brutal impact though.

Man this game has it all...3-3 halfway through and tons of offense...WOOHOOO

If the Ottawa Senators win the Cup:

- I will donate $200 to the Daniel Alfredsson clown academy
- I will not watch hockey for a a period of 12 months
- I will wear a Senators jersey and say I am a Senators fan while walking up and down Yonge Street
- I will praise the city of Ottawa and their fine hockey team for a period of 1 year
- I will acknowledge that hell has finally frozen over
- I will cancel LeafsTV and NHL Centre Ice Package
- I will also give my fantasy team for a total of one year to an associate

The smile on Emery's face when his mask came off was great.

btw, he has some experience fighting with players... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZzyOBhk5Uw

I've been waiting sooooo long for Emery's first NHL bout, and up until Peters came in, this wasn't what I was hoping for... Biron has to be one of the 5 skinniest guys in the league, kudos to him for standing in there though.

I just wish Peters would have let him take his chest protector off...

yeah...Saturday is gonna be interesting but probably won't live up to the hype. The last time two goalies got in a fight was in 2002.

What I don't get is how you can fight while smiling the whole time.

Best game of the night for sure!

I agree with the clean hit. Maybe a little unneccesary, but definitely legal. As for Emery, that was pretty cool, until Buffalo's goon came in there. Where the hell were any of the Sens there? I guess when they have their pus$y line on the ice, what do you expect, but to let your teammate go to war for the second time is ridiculous. At least Emery had a big smile on his face.

Saturday should be fun.

I totally agree, but he was dead tired and taken on by a 3rd man in. You don't let that happen in hockey.

Okay, let's analyze this: a third line player takes a run at a skill player ... questionable hit although certainly borderline at worst. Coach with last change instigates a line brawl. After the game, the OTHER coach makes an open threat for retribution on Saturday night...

Sound about right?
Sound vaguely familiar? It should... it's the same script as Bertuzzi/Moore. I wonder how many years of suspensions will come from any action Saturday night....

I didn't want to be the first to say it since it brings back bad memories of my Nucks. I think there will be a good game on Saturday but I'll be surprised if there is more head hunting for exactly the Bert-Moore incident.

I predict 6 dives between Derek Roy and Daniel Briere....so just another typical game.

Nothing happened the first game after the Moore hit. Watch out for retribution in a month!

That puts us near the end of the regular season.

I doubt anything more than a fight or two goes down.

Of all the games this season that I possibly could have missed in favor of a concert, I miss this one.

*groan*

I'm watching the replay right now, pretty darn good so far.

The truly horrible thing is that I won't be home Saturday night either, so I won't be able to watch the rematch.

Exactly. This is pretty much the same as when Mike Peca anihalated Selanne a bunch of years back (). Tempers flared and Domi was screaming at the Vancouver bench not to dress Bure the next game. They had a game later that week and nothing happened because I think that all of the league officials attended the game expecting fireworks.

Just watched it, Phillips has at least 6 inches and 50 pounds on Kaleta. He's a hard hitting kid, but doesn't have the size to stand in there with a big guy.
