Call.
He probably has the other 8 and you have a pretty good kicker. Or, he's drawing to the flush. Right now, you aren't losing to many hands (K8, A8, 89, 99).

Welcome to Strat.
I'll let some of the NL experts field this one, but I just wanted to say thanks for cleaning up the HH for the post.
I'm not sure what site that's from, but I thought I'd give you the link to the converter so you don't have to do it manually:
http://www.neildewhurst.com/hand-converter (works for most major sites, and some smaller ones.)
Anyways, I call here, but I'm sooooo rusty at NL. UTG probably has a big pair he's not willing to let go of though.

Easy call. You lose to K8, A8, 98 and 99. Everything else you're a mile ahead of.

This was played on Pacific Poker. Does the hand converter work for that site as well?
Anyways, I did indeed called from the BB
And unfortunately UTG held 99 giving him the boat and I lost that pot.
I had played a hand just one round before that with the same scenario (I was in the blinds) pretty much where I held Q 2 and the flop was 2 2 5, and someone else had 55 beating my trips.
Are these spots where I'm bound to lose all my money?
Both times for a second or so I did think of them having the boat on the flop but just couldn't get myself to fold.

Ok, Pacific isn't supported apparently, so no worries there. You did a great job cleaning it up, and that was my main point.
In terms of those two hands; they are pretty well just coolers. I mean, it's possible to get away from them under different circumstances (ie solid reads, deep stacks, etc), but usually it's just one of those hands you're going to lose.

When you're in a raised pot with a hand like Q8 and you flop trip 8s, you're just gonna have to go broke if someone somehow managed to outflop you.
You didn't do anything wrong so don't lose any sleep on it.

especially being 3 handed I'm going broke here if he has me. His range is fairly wide here, and very few hands beat you. You're also getting too good of a price to fold.

i tried to talk here about that program, the RNG , not to talk about when to accept all in without to see flop.
You can accept all in whenever you want, or whenever you feel lucky, but in virtual room's is not like in reality. In reality anything is possible... in virtual rooms you can be "the one" who knows the future, or who can change the future.
