I finally saw the first episode of Poker at the Plaza tonight, as FSN usually re-runs the later episodes. Anyway I wanted to discuss one interesting hand between Daniel, Paul Phillips, and Ted Forrest. All 3 players have equal stacks of around 11k, and Daniel is first to act with a raise of 1k with 10 10. Phillips calls with 22, and Forrest calls with 99. Flop comes K Q 7 rainbow. Daniel leads out with like 700, and Phillips comes over the top making it 3200 to go. Forrest folds, Daniels go into the tank and thinks for a few minutes, makes the call, and takes down the pot after it is checked on the turn and the river. My question is, how does Daniel make this call? I understand he was getting a decent price, but I thought it was genius to make this call facing a raise and 2 over cards considering that Phillips had also called a raise pre-flop. Daniel must have picked something up on Phillips, but I just cant contemplate ever making plays/calls like that. He truly is on a different level than most of us.The other players at the table were so impressed that Daniel stood up and took a bow after the hand was showndown. If any of you guys have seen this episode, what did you think of this hand, and how in the hell does he make this call?

Simply that's a read based callThere's really no other logical explanation that I can come up with
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Go to the homepage of this site and run through Daniel's hand analysis links on the bottom right hand side. Look at Championship Poker at the Plaza, Day One. He specifically talks about his thought process in that hand.Have a good day. :-)
