You raise with AK preflop in early position and get a couple of callers. How do you generally play a rag flop?Feel free to change the position scenario. Basically looking for recommendations whether to attempt to use the strength of your preflop raise to steal the pot, or soften up and lay down your ace high if you are bet at.Thanks.

I almost always bet the pot on the flop with AK, regardless of what hits unless it is something really obvious like three to a flush or straight, or three of a kind on the flop, or there are more then 2 callers of my raise preflopI usually check and will often fold if there is quite a few people in the pot...much tougher to bluff
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Rag flop could be quite profitable for people paying low pocket pairs, or aggressive players willing to pay a raise to see a flop JUST like that so they can capitalize on their 56 sooooted. Bet the pot, if you get callers check the turn, fold to any re-raise or any further betting if you do not hit your cards.

I like the advice about betting the flop with one or two callers. I have also found that with a rag flop if you check some players will suspect that you are slow playing something (I know I know but they are out there) and they will check behind you on the flop. In these opportunities most of the time if nothing dangerous hits the turn I will bet the pot and pick it up because a lot of players aren't going to call a pot sized bet with a pair of nines or whatever. :D~Slick~
