Between NL HE and PLO, which is more of a game of position? I play mostly Hold'em and realize how important position is. I'm just starting to play more Omaha and don't have much of a strategy yet and was wondering if position is just as important. Your thoughts?

Conventional wisdom is that position in more important in PLO. Players with even monster hands can't afford to give free cards, so when a round checks around it usually really means something.

Definitely PLO, and it's not very close at all IMO. Checking with good hands is usually way to dangerous, just like David_Nicoson wrote.

Position's 100x more important in PLO. It's not even close. About 100 different middle connected hands are more valuable on the button than AAKKds upfront unless stacks are shallow enough to get a significant portion of your stack in preflop.

is it because of the bet-sizing or due to Omaha vs HE.
I mean, if it were NL-Omaha, would position still be more important with Omaha?

Pot-limit structure also makes position more important, but I think Omaha vs. Hold'em is a much bigger factor.

If PLO is a greater game of position, would your flop percentage be lower...on average?
We have a positional advantage just as often as a positional disadvantage, so I don't think it should affect our overall VP$IP%. The difference between our UTG VP$IP and our button VP$IP should be greater in Omaha.

yes.
you could probably play every hand that isn't trips on the button (deepstacks obv. w/o too much p/f action) and fold every hand from every other position and still be profitable.
watch a HU high stakes PLO match and see how often the BB 3-bets.
if you're not playing the notes in front of you it's not mozart.
