BB is an unknown. Been at the table for 5-6 hands took down one pot with a raise preflop cbet called, bet turn guy folded.BB 460Hero covers2/4 6 handedDelt A8c in the sb.Folded around, hero raises to 12, BB reraises 12 to 24, hero callsFlop (pot 48)Jc Js 9chero checks, BB bets 26, hero c/rs to 90, BB calls.Turn (Pot 230)KhHero checks, BB bets 70, hero callsRiver (pot 370)2cHero checks (with 300ish behind)I was really lost on the turn and river. Thoughts/ideas for ways to play it without a read.

I would be folding preflop to his 3 bet. Even though it is a tiny raise and you certainly have odds to continue, playing a hand like A8 OOP against a player who has the lead and has shown aggression is trouble. There are no good flops for you except 3 clubs and being OOP you have zero control over the pot.As played check calling the river is your best option because not only will you lose the minimum when you are behind to a boat but you will also pick up some value from hands which would not pay off bet from you.

Some people get a little carried away preflop in blind battles. His min re-raise doesn't necessarily mean he has a big hand. The call preflop is fine. Also, If you're going to check raise this flop and represent a jack, you need to bet the turn. But, I don't think I like the check raise on the flop to begin with. Since he re-raised preflop it's quite likely he has a decent pocket pair and isn't going to lay down to our check raise here anyway.I would have rather led the flop to see if he raises.As played, I don't check the river as I think he checks behind here a lot with AA/AK/QQ/TT, when we could be getting good value by betting.It's very likely we have the best hand now that we've made our flush, so I'm looking for some value on the river by betting like $120.

Two clubs + non-paired board = good flop with the over. This one's not so good but it's acceptable. Folding pf to this small raise is kinda weak.

You can make up good flops for every hand. You may as well have 72 and hope the flop comes 22A. You are OOP with a weak hand against a preflop aggressor, He doesnt need a hand to win this pot and you do, most of the time he takes your money without a fight and this makes you the value in the game. There is no way you can play this hand for a prodit over the longer term with the reasoning you have given. If you are playing these hands to try and hit big flops OOP then you have misunderstood the fundamentals of NL holdem.

That's not really true. As long as you know how to play in this situation and take the pot away enough times when you miss, it's still very worth it to be calling preflop even when you don't hit anything.Whether you decide you will take the pot away when the flop doesn't hit you usually depends on board texture and how you think it would have affected his hand.

I like the bet on the river too, you are soo far ahead of the villians range here it isn't even funny.

You can also make moves OOP. There's no hard and fast rule that says if you flop nothing that you should c/f.I didn't say a 'big flop.' We will flop a flush draw about 11% of the time. Against an aggressive bettor that's good enough for me with the Ac. Flopping TP could also be good here.I am playing this hand because I opened with a good hand against a random and now am not folding to a minraise. I guess pot odds aren't one of the fundamentals of NL hold em.PP24 can play postflop. I'm sure you can too judging from your other posts here. Given that I'm not sure why folding pf is the optimal line.

Agree with everything Bubba said. All the preflop raises say is that the villain likes his pocket, and that could mean any number of things.Given you checked at every level from the flop beyond, his bets may simply be him leading out and forcing you to respond. Given the flush draw on the flop, leading with a bet at every level and playing off his responses looks like a good idea.
