I don't know how to play STTs, but I'd fold. Only because I think this is proper STT play, in a normal MTT there's no way I'm folding. So basically, ignore this post.

If all the money goes in, youre getting sufficient chip odds against a range of JJ, TT, JT, plus pushing has fold equity. I think the combination has to make it +$EV to push.

I like a shovel here. I'd like to see the pokerstove #'s, but I think you're dead even with any ace here. Add in the fold equity that pushing gets you and I think it's the play.

Wow, check all the pushing! I guess I have to learn about that...

Anyway, I would call the flop bet and see what rolls out in the wash. Chances are Villain has Ax, with x having a value of K, Q, J, T or 9, most likely, putting him on a str8 draw with top pair. He's almost certainly betting the pot to push out flus draw. Pushing is a great idea, so is it too conservative of me to want to see the turn for 600? With 11 outs twice (9 hearts and two non-heart K's), I realise pushing is a very good idea, but it's been said that chasing draws in tourneys will hurt you in the long run.

I did shove. I was second guessing myself afterwards because we're on the bubble. Good to get validation. For the record, villain had KKh. Turn and river bricked, and hero bubbled out. I'm happy with my play. Villain played it horrendously on both streets.

I didn't catch that part of your post initially... and I agree 100%. I'm sure he'd disagree, seeing as he "Won the hand.."

I love when people say that, "Well I guess I played it better, I won.." So apparently there ISN'T luck in poker!
