Yeah i hit straight flush from time to time as well. When i hit noone has nut flush, board doesn't pair , if it does noone has a boat and i win the blinds.******Looking at the hands again when i am calmer i noticed that i played too many pots out of position. And a few bad calls and pushes. But Straight flushes are still gay!

I don't want to open a new thread so i will hijack this ridiculously meaningless thread of mine*******I am thinking about moving up to $100 PLO. Now i have around 30 buy ins for that level but i have always been a bankroll nit. I don't feel comfortable playing in a limit if i don't have at least 50 buy-ins. That's why i came up with an idea. Now the minimal bankroll requirement for any NL or PL game is 20 buy-ins yeah?I will play $100 PLO for full time. If i drop a few buy-ins and have only 20 buy-ins left , i will move down to $50 PLO and $25 PLO. I will grind it up back to lets say 25 buyins for 100$ PLO. Then i will move up and take another shot. It goes on like this untill i don't drop below 20 buy-ins anymore.I have been playing $100PLO occasionally and posted a few hands here , mostly with a short buy in tho , and i observed that it's very beatable. I am sure i can beat that game but i still make some silly calls preflop and silly bets on river. They can do damage well in $100 PLO.So how does the idea sound? How do you guys manage moving up in limits?

If you're not using Poker for your primary source of income, 50 buy-ins is pretty extreme. I don't know if you have to take into account more variance in PLO than in NLHE, but for a good player, 20 buy-ins should be enough. Here's a very basic structure that was posted on Pocket Fives a while back.http://www.pocketfives.com/5C57520F-8A89-4...D240CB3E59.aspx

Although it is not my primary source of income i still care a lot about my poker income. I have built this from Party's free 50$ and i enjoy spending the money i won from Poker. Thanks a lot for the link. I am reading it now.

I didn't say we all don't like the extra money affords us, and I wasn't suggesting you go plop 1/2 your roll on the table. I was just suggesting that you were taking an awfully conservative approach to bankroll management based on someone doing it for extra income.I could see someone moving back down stakes if they hit 10-15 buy-ins at the level they are currently playing, but for someone doing it for extra income, if you feel comfortable with your game, and if you think your skill level will transfer well to the next level, then I don't think you need to hold 50 buy-ins, which is a number that more people will use who fully depend on Poker for their livelihood, so they have a bigger cushion.

No, I switch between NLHE and PLO. Depends on my mood. I've been playing more live lately, and found some soft games where people are doing a round of PLO and a round of NLHE, and most have no idea when it comes to Omaha fundamentals, so it's nice.I think my basics are pretty good, but I definitely need some work on the advanced concepts.

Live is all 1/2. Online I was mostly playing .50/1 and 1/2, but I took all my money off last year for a few trips so I'm starting over with SNGs mostly right now, and I'll switch back into cash games when I can afford $50 and $100 NL or PL games.
