Definitely bet this. If SB lucks into a queen or heart, there's not much you can do, but you have every reason to believe you're ahead, and all a check does is allow SB to only put a bet in when ahead.

Hmmm, generally, I c/c a lot in these situations, because the aggro tards on AP always bet when checked to.However, in this case, I mean we have a pair of 4s, but it's pretty strong relative to the board. I'd expect a lot of Ax calls, here as well as 2s, 3s, calling down. I think we can probably get called by enough to bet here.However, Iggy, most villains will bet a lot of worse hands here. It's not like we're only facing a bet when it's a 7 or a Q. Any 2, 3 is betting here, as well as a lot of random bluffs. So c/c'ing definitely has some merit here as well.I'm kinda torn between the two, although we are almost always ahead here, and for that reason, I think a bet is better than risking it gets checked through.- Zach

I guess if your opponents are donkish enough to just call down with a FD and then bet the river when they miss, c/c might be all right. In the games I play in though, a FD always raises this on the flop or turn. Any gutshots or open-enders paired up, so villian has to have either a low pair or a high-card hand.Something like KJ or A6 is way more likely to call a bet on the river than to make a bet, and even though the low pairs will probably bet if checked to, you're a lot more sure to get a bet by betting it yourself. I'm betting the river 100% of the time in this situation.
