As the Pensblog points out it's time to the lay the ground rules for the Staal vs. Staal drinking game. Simply drinking to any mention of them being brothers will likely have you passed out by the 2nd period. As proposed by a Pensblogger

Quote

Drinking game rules.Mention of 'Staal' during game - drinkMention of Eric and Jordan being brothers - drink twiceMention of their 2 brothers also being in the NHL (Marc with the Rangers, Jared with the Phoenix organization) - drink four timesMention of a long stick of Staal - chugShowing the Staal parents right before Jordan scores a goal - toast the person to your right and chugShowing the Staal parents right before Eric scores - kill yourselfMention of the Sod farm - vomit on the person to your leftMention of 'Whitney' and someone near you thinks it's Ryan - punch them in the throatHome ice is nice. Let's take this series by the balls, Go Pens.

Anyone in the Pittsburgh area want to go to game 1? I'm very very very strongly considering heading down since I got some pretty cheap airfare, and hopefully can get tickets in the morning.Arp's looking into it too, as the enemy.Who's up for it?

As I said in the Canes thread while I was waiting forever for this one to load (my internet is messed up + the pictures)...I would but I'll be in North Carolina all next week on vacation at the beach.

I'm up for it, problem is I'll be transiting the Panama Canal that day and arriving to Puntarenas, Costa Rica on the day of Game 2. I expect to be back to VA for game 3 which hasn't been announced but I'm assuming it'll be Saturday or Sunday.

So in the Conf Semis, Pens play twice in 2 days; and in the Conf Finals, there's actually a point where they only play 2 games in an entire calendar week. WTF?

Either 1, 3, or 7/730.I'm sure NBC will take it, so I'd put money on it being an afternoon game.

Look at look me...look at ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Pens have a much better chance of winning the cup than you have to actually make this happen. The first 2 game leaf winning streak during preseason would be too much to avoid.

No I am TOTALLY serious...The game of hockey would take a devastating hit if these guys win the cup..Its ludicrous IMO, even to imagine the devastation.Lets go Eric StaalLets go Carolina.

Sorry guys...Why would the Pens winning the Cup be devastating? I don't get it. You say this is not your usual "i am going to bait the Pens fans" post but there could be no other reason for this. I don't think any NHL team winning the Cup would be devastating. That just makes no sense at all.

Its about freaking time!I think this has the makings of a great series, but Pitts is the team I least wanted Carolina to face. Going into the playoffs, I believed Pittsburgh was the best team in the East, and I'm not at all suprised they are just 8 wins from the Cup. GL, and I really hope this is as good a series as the Washington one.....and hopefully a game 7 too.

Ok ...Since you asked. The Penguins have been extremely lucky to get this far in the playoffs. A month before the playoffs, they were even money to miss them. They were one bounce away from being down 3-0 to the Capitals, a much better more liked and overall better team. They somehow managed to win and spiked the lunch of rookie sensation Varlamov before game 7. Alexander Ovechkin is the greatest player in the game. Sidney Crosby is a whining crybaby, who all of a sudden is playing good. However in the words of my hero Alexander Semin "he isnt that good"The Pittsburgh Penguins have built their team by basically cheating. They tanked for 6.89 seasons to grab all the top picks in the NHL entry draft. This tactic should not be rewarded. A team like Detroit is commendable since they have built a solid franchise without the help of top end draft picks. They are a real team, Pittsburgh is a joke of a team devised in the secret offices of Gary Bettman to try and sell to Middle America who is obssessed with Nascar. The city of Pittsburgh just won a super bowl, if they win the Cup in the same year, it will throw off the equiluibrium of the universe and the losties will be sent 20 years back in time and will end up playing on the same team with Mario Lemieux. However if they dont win by defusing the hydrogen bomb with the help of Jack,Sawyer and the clan all is well in the world again.Bottom line, if the Penguins win, not only is it bad for hockey, its bad for everyone in the universe.*******The preceding post is filled with accuracies and SOME sarcastic remarks..It is up to you to determine what is what.

Bolded to point out the accuracies. The rest is just ridiculous BS. Serge I think you have a thread dedicated to this type of nonsense. Please attempt to keep it there.I know you're into Semin but actually acknowledging his BS comments especially now is laughable.

your comments are duly noted. While your statement is filled with hatred and just sad commentary I dont take it personally. I as a hockey fan would rather watch a team with Adam Lambert, David Archuleta and Clay Aiken as a forward unit. With Kelly Clarkson and Justin Giuarini on defence and Ruben Stoddard in goal. The team doesnt have the star power that it advertises...Crosby is a little kid living in the basement of a former superstar legend. Malkin is an uber ogre disguised as a hockey player. The coach is a name even hardcore hockey fans have never heard of. Is he even a real hockey guy, or just a stickboy from the late 80s.On a day where we lost one of the greatest characters on network tv(Izzy Stephens) we should reflect on the situation on hand. The kids at West Beverley dont like the Penguins and neither does the citizens of Genoa City, especially Victor Newman and Jack Abbott.**the preceding post is meant to be funny, if you take it seriously you are an ogre Penguin fan as advertised.
