I've been having a lot of trouble with hands such as this one and I need to figure out where I'm playing them incorrectly. Live no-limit $2/$5 game at the Bellagio. A few players are absent and game has become a little passive. No action to me in the cutoff. I limp in with 7c8c to see a cheap flop. The button limps after me. SB folds. BB, who has biggest chip stack, raises to $10. I call, button calls.FLOP: 7d8h9dBB checks. I lead out $50. Button folds. BB hesitates, then calls.TURN: AhBB checks. I move all in for around $250. BB calls and shows TdJd for nut straight.RIVER: 3dBB makes flush. I bust out.In similar situations in the past, I have thought that perhaps I was just unlucky to get caught in this situation. But the repetition appears to indicate a major leak in playing strategy. What would have been the correct way to play this hand? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, you got had that's for sureBB hesitation is probably a sign of strength, and you moved in with only bottom two pairBottom two pair is not a hand strong enough to go all in with imo
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

So play was correct until the turn? What would have been the correct bet on the turn?

I'm checking the turn because the Ah makes all sorts of hands that have me concernedAll I have is bottom two pair, this is why I don't like small suited connectors

I don't limp in the CO or on the Button with any hand I plan on playing. So, raise preflop. The A will not slow me down one bit, but I think moving all in was a gross overbet of the pot. Just throw another 2/3 pot bet or a full pot bet. If he raises, we can have some fun.

pop that puppy up to $20 PF. The BB probably would still call. Now on the flop you need to be worried with his call on very coordinated board like that. Turn, you need to bet the pot. If he raises then you really need to evaluate your hand as you can be beat by a bunch of things there. WHat hands has he played, is he capable of a CR bluff, how is he sitting in his chair, what is his table image, and the like. I only fault how quick you were on the trigger right there. PRetty much you can beat any big Ace, but he has several outs rigt there if the nine pairs or his kicker pairs, and a flush draw or straight draw.
