Blinds are $10,000 - $5000. I have $7000 after posting big blind. There are four people left at FT. The person two spots to my left (or my right for that matter) has $8000.I am in BB with 64. Fold, fold, small blind raises all-in. He has me covered with $50,000 more in his stack. There is $27,000 in the pot. It's my last $7,000 to call. Payouts is $60 for 4th place and $100 for 3rd, if that matters.He has raised my BB the last 3 trips around. First time he did I called with K10. He had 74 and caught a 7 on the turn. The next 2 times, I had to fold trash hand (93 and 62). Each of those times he showed me a 2 aftter folding.Do I call?

That's what I thought. I had taken some criticism from the people there for making the call. It seemed pretty clear to me. I guess I found a good group of people to play with.

All of the payouts matter, all of the stacks matter, as well as how aggressive players have been against the 8000 stacks' blinds. Unless the last two spots are huge payouts this is a definite fold, and it may even still be a fold if they are, and this may even be a fold with a much better hand.

He already posted 3/5 of his stack for the big blind. :icon_confused:I'm sure if you fold that hand you're going to muck the next one and then you're left with 2k and no shot at winning.

Thats why I said all of the stacks are important. If the other stacks are even and arond 2o or 30k so you have a legitimate shot at something better than 3rd you may play the hand. If they are both 50k stacks almost all of your equity in this hand is in moving from 4th to 3rd, and how much of your stack is in already is meaningless. The only thing that matters that the 8k stack has two hands to catch something or hes done (assuming, as I said, that the other stacks wont let him skate by unchallenged, which would be horrendous play). Its similar to bubble play in a sitngo...tight is usually right if youre not first in.

This is a fairly steep prize structure, with the increment from 4th to 3rd a rather measly 12.5% of the 320 being contested (after the $60 everyone has won is subtracted out). That leads to fairly loose calling ranges.If SB pushes with any two cards, calling with 64o gains 32 cents.If SB pushes with the top 75% of all hands, calling with 64o loses $2.56If SB pushes with the top 50% of all hands, calling with 64o loses $2.88If SB pushes with the top 25% of all hands, calling with 64o loses $4.16
