ShakeZuma 586
Ok, so occasionally my computer's (laptop) CD/DVD drive likes to pop out a the slightest touch (sound familiar?) which us usally just annoying, but this morning it did it without my noticing, and when I turned around while holding it, it slammed into a wall. Now it didn't break off or anything, and it still seems to slide in and out fine, and the light still comes on when its in all the way (god this sounds dirty), but it won't stay closed. I'm guessing some sort of clasp on the inside is broken or bent or something. Anybody ever have this happen and/or know a good and easy way to fix it? I really don't want to have to pay somebody, mainly becuase I wouldn't know where to take it (please God not the geek squad), and it would cost more than I could afford (more than $0).Thanks. And its a Gateway MX6920.
Eric Smith 0
A little bit of peanut butter should fix that for you. Just spread some in the DVD drive and it should make things stick.
Dogpatch 2
I don't really have any ideas, but you already know to stay away from the Geek Squad. Best Buy's customer service sucks balls. If you can't actually see what is broken, then it might be ghetto tape time.
