hii was playing on pokerpages the other day and we were down to 18 players in a 70 player tournament and i got dealt 9 9 4 people limped in plus the blinds so we had 6 people for the flop.flop comes 9 10 KBB bets and another player reraises, i figure i have the best hand so i go all in. Big Blind has a flush draw and the other player has a set of kings. That hand crippled me and soon thereafter i got knocked out of the tournament.(i was the chipleader before that hand)i was just wondering if any of you know what the odds are of somebody flopping an overset yo your set. any help appreciatedseli

Set over set on the flop is very rare. If you played 8 hours a day, 5 days a week in a live cardroom, you could expect to flop a set-under- set a couple of times a year. With the sped up play online, figure a few more times a year. It would have been hard to read anyone else for a set on this hand with the lack of preflop raising, though I might have been concerned that someone had QJ. Tough break.
When you tell me a bad beat story, I don't really listen. I nod sadly and pretend to care, but actually I'm using the time to think about more important things. That way, you feel the sympathy you're seeking, and I put my time to good use. It works for both of us. -- Mike Caro, Super System 2
