I don't think the flop peel is too loose at all.Turn play sets up the river well, correct? And we like the river check-raise ya? IMO someone who raises in position and calls the turn is going to bet on the river to get me to fold, or a thin value bet, even if he was on a draw - not a def. but it happens. Zach6668 513
Zach Hates Donkbets.I don't understand this one. I like them when they have a purpose. I've started mixing in a stop and go a ton now against these aggro players on AP.I just don't get the point of this bet. It's like "hey!!1 I picked up a flush draw! I'm gonna donk it evey though my equity is no where near wheat it has to be, and I have next to no fold equity, and I rarely have the best hand as it is!! WHooooo!"
antistuff 0
no...turn play sets up for him to check behind with lots of hands he would have called a bet with.
aim786 0
What do you think your turn donk-bet represents?--cmRight on point imo. Your turn donk represents that you have a flush draw; this is a line many players use (donking on the turn when they pick up a draw). If I was the button here and had any sort of hand, I'd raise that turn donk all day.
mikeysong 0
it's not a line i'd always take w/only a flush draw.I think I gain an extra bet on the river a lot of the time doing this (when I make my hand)I would check-raise the flush or any Ace, and bet out any 9 as his call on the turn tells me he probably doesn't have the jackoh zach, I was referring to the other hand I posted awhile ago where I donkbet turn n river and u said something along the lines 'i hate the way you play, I'd want to stab you'

Donking on the turn when no draw gets picked up confuses me the most, ie I can't play optimally against it. Still, I think your hand is too transparent on this board. Is he passive? Alot of players call down with the J here because they don't want to raise again.Lol I remember that. Whenever you play against zach, ALWAYS donk into him, it tilts him like crazy! Pancake407 0
I think I gain an extra bet on the river a lot of the time doing this (when I make my hand)But you lose an extra bet on the turn, when you get raised again and don't make your hand on the river. Check/Call the turn -You have no fold equity here, you have no showdown value, I don't see any reason to donk this turn.

Head_Trauma 0
Turn play sets up the river well, correct?Guess it does given what actually happened... but what is your line when you whiff the river? Fire another barrel and pray?
Zach6668 513
Lol I remember that. Whenever you play against zach, ALWAYS donk into him, it tilts him like crazy! Can we please keep this on the downlow? A lot of players on here play on AP, and I'd like to continue owning them. Kthx. mikeysong 0
Another face card on the river is worth firing. Otherwise I check/call a non club card as well as for info.pancake - Yes, I'll most likely be re-raised by a J if he's not passive. Just because he raised the flop doesn't mean he has top pair. He could easily do it with a draw or bluff me w/K high, which some A-holes do =/The donkbet on the turn helps me define his hand
Zach6668 513
I'd rather keep my "defining" plays to the flop. I'm not a fan of having him define his hand on the turn.I really don't know. I still don't get this line.
wrto4556 0
I think its fine. Heavily depends on OPs tendencys though.
iggymcfly 0
I really hate the turn here. You're never ever ever getting a better hand to fold, and I think you'd actually get more information with a c/c since a draw might check behind. All this donk does is say "Hey, have a good hand? If you do, I'll give you an extra bet." The only way I could see this line being useful is if you think that there's a really good chance that villian's making this raise with a worse ace high and you plan on betting the river for value. Trying to bluff a face card on the river is another play that will never ever ever work. If you really want to get cute, you can C/R the turn and maybe get something to fold, but I think just C/Cing is the best play.If we do check/call the turn, I'd probably C/R the river as well since it's a pretty safe card that fell, and we're likely to get the most value that way. After getting 3-bet in that spot, I'd probably just call since I'd find a boat to be more likely than a 2 or a worse flush based on the earlier action. As played, I'd bet/3-bet since villian showed a lot of weakness by just calling when we took the lead on the turn, and our odd line might make him suspicious of a flush draw. Jimboozie 0
I didn't understand the river at all. What is he three betting with here? Like guy above said, why cap most times you're losing an extra bet to a boat here.
mikeysong 0
he would've raised the turn with a set or two pair, don't you think?" think you'd actually get more information with a c/c since a draw might check behind."in the games @ AP, this isn't true. People who fire the turn tend to fire the river. A lot of stubborn aggression @ AP. I saw a guy bet AK to the river with just A high in position and i'm pretty sure he wasn't betting to value bet, pretty sure he just did it hoping the guy would fold something @_@
wrto4556 0
the turn can be played a lot of different ways. this way is ok if the opponent is going to raise a pair of deuces on the flop, A high, or a flush draw. We lock up value on the turn and if we are beat thats ok! we have a flush draw and probably pair outs. c/ring is fun, too. check/call is standard (i hate that word). I dont think its a big deal either way we go.For the record, i think the river c/r is sick!
