So this might be results based thinking.But I think I would fold to the river 3 bet.Also, i know thats sort of a scary flop for top set, but i think you should be raising the flop. Again might also be results based thinking.Wandigo, I've played with you multiple times in the Neg-O and def. respect your holdem game, but if you are new to Omaha why don't you start at a lower level? One thing I've learned about Omaha is that if someone decent is raising and you don't have the nuts, he does or at least has you beat.It may appear weak but don't even raise this river. simo_8ball 1 Posted January 5, 2007 Share Posted January 5, 2007 You should know by now to convert the hand and delete results.I didn't read the results, so this is unbiased:Preflop I don't mind the call, although it's a little loose. Change the 2 to a spade 7 or higher and it's easily a good call.Flop call is standard. If you raise, you fold all hands you are crushing and only get action from hands that beat you. You would also hate to get reraised.Turn check is uber standard.I like a smaller raise on the river, to $50. You get called by weaker hands (8s full) enough to make this profitable.Fold to the shove. The river call was one of those that I regret and I'm sure we've all made one of those "instant" calls where you do it without even thinking because you're frustrated. I definitely learned from it along with your responses. meservery: I started at .50/1 because i can easily afford it with my roll. I've been getting some lessons lately and prior to last night, I've had a winning session every time I played. Apparently this is me learning about the variance involved in PLO. I lost last night just a little less than what I made on Monday & Tuesday, so I guess I'm back to where I was prior to the new year, but today is been one of my most depressing "post-poker" days after losing a few buy-ins. I feel that I can beat this game in the long run though, so I'm sure the ups will outweigh the downs.Someone make me feel better and tell me the large amounts you've lost in a night and why it's not such a bad thing.
