Middles stages of the afternoon $3rDo you flat call here after a limp and then a 6x raise from an unknown..Player just got moved here..Deep enough to play for set value? Strong enough to evalulate a flop? Or is calling here just spewing? I think Id fold here, but pushing is close too. I dont like a flat call because unless you hit the set its going to be hard to call any CB with any flop. Putting villian at 77+, AQ+ youre a 1.25:1 dog in the hand, and pushing only gives you 1.1:1 implied odds. Youve got some fold equity that improves your chances, but youve also got the limper behind you who might wake up.tough spot.

We're not deep enough to play it for strictly set value. If we stack him for 21,435 plus the blinds 1,600, we're getting only 4.8:1 in implied odds with a 7.5:1 chance of improving on the flop.Is nines the best hand already? *shrug* Maybe. I don't hate taking a sniff at the flop and making a decision there.

Knowing what you know about the player (nothing), I think calling is spewing - even if the limper calls you and he aren't deep enough to play for set - now, if you knew the BB would come along too, then you might actually get full price when you hit your set.......pushing is better than calling, but I think folding is your most profitable play long-term.Of course, every time I fold here the flop comes 799.

Folding>Jamming/CallingSince he's new, I don't like pushing, because basically the best case is he has a small pair, but most likey you are either flipping or a 4-1 dog.You have a nice stack... i'd fold and wait to get more info on him, but if you think folding is weak-tight, then calling isn't horrible.

its an obscene raise.. who knows what he will fire at the flop bet... easy fold.. at best you are flipping a coin.
Not sure what he's trying to do here?? looks like stealing the blinds to me... But I'll let this hand go and wait to see what he does from now on..he just drew attention to himself... now you'll be monitoring everything he does and most likley he's gooing to think he can steal again and make everyone foldsWhen in turn the next one needs only a decent hand to call him....
