Fenxis 99
Is it anything like the way I laughed out loud when you put 2 players in your lineup tonight who you have already released?Honestly, does it really matter? His score will invariably be rounded up to zero anyways.
sleuthis 0
Honestly, does it really matter? His score will invariably be rounded up to zero anyways. No that doesnt matter. What matters is that he seems more concerned about who is on the Mustangs than who is on his own team. It's not terribly difficult to keep track of.Besides, Blackdraft have also picked up or dropped in excess of 20 players, so its not like he doesnt take shots at players either.BTW serge, moss isnt all that young. goose 0
I've made so many pick-up/drops because of the incissent whining about me having players that get bounced between the NHL and the AHL (like Noah Clarke for example)... when I picked up AHL'ers and kept them on the roster, people complained that I wasn't icing a competitive team, so I dropped guys like Clarke to pick up guys like Lilja who were at least being dressed consistently.... and I still pick-up/drop because when good prospects like Pavelski become available I compare them to players already on my team and upgrade if necessary. Fenxis are you suggesting that I should have passed on Pavelski because of the $3.00 transaction fee?I'd be more than happy to have 10 guys on my active roster like Clarke who won't see the NHL consistently until next year, but there was too much bitching when I did that. It's preferred that I have 4th line grinders who might score 13 points all year, because that's more "competitive". I did a rough EV calculation and I figured it would be cheaper to pay the transaction fees than purchase the amount of tissue paper that's required for all the crying go on.Oh and I don't use the expansion card often.... but I'm an expansion team, of course I'm going to be looking for new players to replace Brian Willsie etc.

goose 0
I agree about Cleary, that was a great trade for you.

Perhaps you wouldn't be in this situation if you didn't trade away all of your current "decent" players!
goose 0
No, he's a very good pickup. Perhaps you wouldn't be in this situation if you didn't trade away all of your current "decent" players!Sean Avery, Jan Bulis, Geoff Sanderson, Petr Nedved, Ruslan Salei, Andreas Lilja, Chris Kunitz, Chris Simon and Andreas Lilja are the player's I've traded away. Kunitz is the only great player I traded, and Salei to some extent, but nobody expected him to have this kind of year. How are those players going to help me win a championship? This is a 20 team league, and I'm an expansion team. Realistically if I'm gunning for a championship in 2011/2012 I've done a good job. How do you think I get the top end players I need to win a champioship? Free Agency? Nope. Trades? Nope, I have nothing to trade that will get me high end currently producitve players - I couldn't trade my entire team for Malkin. So how do I do it then? Drafting, and by getting cheaper young players who will be productive and still reasonably priced in 5 years. Why should I try and be competitive this year if it just pushes back how long I have to wait to win a championship? Does finishing in 14th as opposed to 20th for the next few years make any difference? I have 36 draft picks over the next 4 years, where the other teams have an average of 15 each. Sure draft picks can be crap-shoots, but with proper scouting I'm going to turn some of them into great young players... and I also have guys like Zajac/Backstrom/Weiss/Gleason who will be good producers in 4-5 years. sleuthis 0
You're definitely a little sensitive nate. There was no mention of your team here, and how you are building it.The only mention was how much time you spend attacking a team like the mustangs for taking a shot at an available player when you have done the same thing countless times yourself. And the fact that you seem to know who is on THAT team more than your own current roster. What it DID have to do with is you putting them in lineups when you knew there werent playing. The fact is, you have shown that you have plently of hockey knowledge and that you are watching the wires so when you put guys in your lineup that have been sent down - its going to cause concern amonst other owners. Especially when it would be obvious to everyone that you KNOW that player wont be playing in the game you have scheduled him for.
