I find it hard to imagine that Daniel has ever suffered from a lack of confidence (that we have seen publicly anyway) He always seems to enter an event fully beliveing that he will win it. One of the KEY ingrediants taught to us by our training with Steve7 is just that ... C O N F I D E N C E. It is so huge to being successful.

As far as cockiness goes, NAW! Daniel is right on when he says that given the choice of adjusting your attitude one way or the other, then you'd rather err on the over confident side for sure. Couldn't agree more.

As of this posting the WPT outcome has yet to be determined, and regardless of the outcome Daniel is in the drivers seat for many months to come. From what I saw this weekend anyway his game is just SICK good right now. This WPT FT certainly confirms that!

Best of luck and continued success Daniel!

(edit: Well...it's now 8:45 Vegas time. Hundreds railed your FT tonight here Daniel and I have no doubt you did all you could. Congrats on a great tournament. With your game right now it's clear that '07 will bring even more success.)

One of his best blogs ever. 100% right on with his advice on confidence. When you got it you feel invincible and it shows in your results. When you dont you get outplayed by people who have no business outplaying you. Take it down Daniel!

A little story about confidence and focus, which relates to all sports including poker....
Jack Nicklaus KNEW he could beat you. You KNEW Jack Nicklaus could beat you. But what made Jack Nicklaus one of the GREATEST was HIS thought process..."Jack Nicklaus KNEW that YOU KNEW he could beat you. Confidence in your ability is almost as important as ability itself. When you show confidence to your opponent you get into his head....which is where you want to be!

Take it Down D!

Today, on the way home from work, I was thinking about some negative things and how I needed to seperate myself from these thoughts. Anyway, I perked myself up a bit, got online, read how great Daniel is doing in the WPT event and called a friend. Spirits keep picking up. I cruise through the forums and find some funny and uplifting threads and post. Then I see Daniel wrote a blog.

Wow. Inspirational. Daniel, I know your objective was to state what you are feeling but let me say, your blog is so uplifting. The positive energy comes right out from the computer screen. This is exactly what I needed. Your words are awesome.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

I'm really interested to know Daniel's "system"?

I'm a cash-game person myself but my impression he means in a tourny you're not out to just get all your money in good whenever you have equity (as in cash game), you're out to maximize the growth rate of your stack. i.e. you want to see flops because if you do lose a pot you don't want to lose so much such that it hampers your ability (as a skilled player) to continue to accumulate chips at a fast rate by outplaying people on the flop. I can only guess it's about getting that sweet spot balancing skill / equity / and risk that will increase your stack the fastest..

Great blog.

I'm glad that Daniel has a lot of confidnece, because lets face it, how many people are actually better than him.

I just checked cardplayer and he is in first with about 9 million with four left...this means that he accomplished number 11-all time money on WPT

GL Daniel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he told you his new secret. Deep stacks and playing tighter.

I don't need to be a global citizen because I'm blessed by nationality I'm member of a growing populace we enforce our popularity I feel sorry for the earth's population 'cuz so few live in the U.S.A. At least the foreigners can copy our morality they can visit but they cannot stay Only precious few can garner the prosperity it makes us walk with renewed confidence He's the farmers barren fields the force the army wields The expression in the faces of the starving millions The power of the man he's the fuel that drives the clan He's the motive and conscience of the murderer He's the preacher on t.v. the false sincerity The form letter that's written by the big computers He's the nuclear bombs and the kids with no moms

It was a great blog, very true.

It's a well known principle in Psychology that you can change the way things happen to you by being positive and believing in yourself. It's been proven that people really do create their own luck through skill and belief.

"Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change"

If you don't believe you can win, you won't.

Well played Daniel.

His new blog is no much different from this blog.

I hope his time at home helps him relax and get back in the grove.
