Have You Heard If Ryan Malone?

Recommended Posts

Last two games, 4 goals and three assists. Playing alongside Crosby... sweet, sweet, news for me. I never gave up on the kid and know I'll be rewards with oodles and oodles of goals!
i think pittsburgh almost gave up on him last year.. hope it turns into a good pickup for you

I hear nothing but "Trade Malone" talk on the Pens boards. Nobody likes him for some reason, although I do. There are actually rumours he is being shopped, but if he keeps finishing the way he did tonight, I wouldn't trade him.

last year they were talking about the flames acquiring him at the deadline for a 2nd or 3rd rounder.. would have been a bad deal for penguins imo
Word is that he's lazy, and doesn't work hard defensively.

Yeah, I'm just relaying the general tone on the Pens boards.I like him, although I don't get to watch a ton of Pens games :(He was pretty cool when I met him, so I'm ok as long as he continues to score, and the Pens keep winning!lol @ Colby ramming his Hummer into Malone's... good times in the Igloo parking lot, lol

I think all has been said about him almost being trading last year...so I'll say other...First time I heard of him is when I was 15-16, played against him, and he ran over my ass a few times. :club: Born/raised Pittsburgh guy, dad was a Pen, and a scout for them until last year. He went to Shattuck in MN and everyone thought it was a joke, since he wasn't even the best player on his midget line. Late bloomer, I guess, went to St. Cloud State (decent numbers) and then drafted by the Pens. Everyone firgured, at the time he was drafted, he would never get close to the NHL, but now he's Crosby's linemate.I've heard the same lazy rumors, but also heard recently, he's in the best shape of his life and rededicated himself to the game.

I've not only heard of him, but I've been lucky enough to have season tickets so I can watch him in person :D All 3 of his goals were mirror images, I think. Same end of the arena, same side of the net, same corner of the net.And getting a hat trick on "Free Hat Night" is just asking for a delay. There were about 17,060 hats given away tonight, and about 1/10 of them made their way towards the ice :club:

after the last two days, i'm officially considering Malone a good prospect/young star again. Pretty good, considering a week ago, i would've traded him for a sack of pucks, amid Islanders trade rumours. Not a bad list to be on:Jarret StollSteve BernierColby ArmstrongMike CammalleriRyan MaloneLoui ErikssonPetr PruchaRyan CraigAndrew LaddNigel DawesJoni PitkanenME VlasicJack JohnsonKevin KleinAnd yes, I was touching myself while I made that list.

I went to the Pens boards even before he returned from injury and told everyone he was going to good when he came back. Malone has always been a slow starter but finishes strong to top the 20 goal mark. I'm not letting go of a guy who has a chance to be Crosby's fire hydrant.

looks like Pens are for sale again. Daniel why don't you get together with some poker buddies and buy the team. 178 million is the asking price. Iam in for 100 grand. We fix the first 20 games make our money back and its all gravy from there.

Heh - thanks. I'm actually from Butler county, so I have an hour drive or so to make the games. It's worth it, though. We have the 20-game plan and sit in the first row of "B" section, so we have the railing in front of us. We're right behind the goal where the Pens shoot on for 2 periods. We got those seats during Fleury's rookie season, so we used to be upset that we'd only get a close look for a third of the game. With Crosby and Malkin on the team, we're no longer so upset ;)I miss my uncle's old season tickets from the mid-90's, though. Before they had those blue seats, he had tickets 2-3 rows behind the penalty box. If the red center line extended into the crowd, it'd split the 2 seats that he had. Man, I miss those seats...

I'm from the Imperial area (by the int'l airport) but with coaching a HS team and playing myself, I don't make it to many games at all. My step-dad had tickets for like 20 years, until 1994ish (married my mom and had a kid, dummy :club: ), first row in B also, just towards center ice from the the Pens runway to the locker room. My mom also had season tickets from 1990-1994ish so I went to lots of games back then. Went to a game in each round of the playoffs in '91 and '92. Good times.
