ok i have tried everything.
i am using my laptop and am trying to connect to the internet at my place.
when i plug the laptop in it lets me use the internet (mainly party poker really) for about 10-30 mins max and then cuts off and says limited or no connectivity. i wait for about an hour after this and it works again for the same ammount of time then shuts off.
any help someone? this has been going on for about 3 months starting when i got the laptop so i have never really been able to use the net properly.

Your avatar image isn't working to start with.
Well lets the get scoop of your setup first, assuming you are behind a router - are there other computers connected to the router as well? Your running XP on your laptop? Does your laptop have wireless capabilities?

Has any other computer had that same problem? What you may want to try is disable the wireless feature before connecting to the ethernet. Sometimes if it picks up a wireless connection and tries to auto connect to it, it will cut out from the ethernet to do so.,

Unplug it, take it up to the roof, drop it.
I didn't read your post, just more of a personal wish on my part.

Steve,
It doesn't matter who you start because you have a horse shoe up your ass so far I'm not really sure how you get through the day. You must be gay.

k thats wrong. click start > run > type cmd and press enter. Type ipconfig - It'll show 3 ips - 1st being your IP address found on the network such as 192.168.1.5 2nd don't worry about 3rd "Default Gateway" - should be something like 192.168.1.1

Autoconfiguration IP Address --- : 169.254. .........
Subnet Mask ---: 255. .......

Ok... go to My Network Places - Try clicking Add a network place and see if it detects the router & network.
