Any decent poker player will tell you to bet and represent the flop, if you are called then you have to determine if your opponents have real hands or if they are drawing at something, in this case I don't see anything they could draw for, no flush or straight possibilites which is a nice flop for you, you have to go ahead and bet this type of flop. In this case if you are called you pretty much know you are behind and you need to improve so if you don't it's an easy lay down, at least in my point of view.

i say you check.....whith 3 limpers its not probable that you have the best hand and since you were the preflop raiser someone might be trying to check raise you.....checking the flop is the best play, you can try and improve on the turn or check fold there too.....by betting one sb there it is unlikley you will get 3 players to fold, and might even be faced with a check raise.....i say check and then check/fold unless you improve on the turn....as for pocket nines you could make a case for betting because there is a chance you have the best hand but i would still check there and see what happens on the turn to make your decision....one bet there is very unlikley to win you a four way pot

The flop was checked around to you and you took the lead preflop...why wouldn't you bet? You have a chance to pick up the pot right there and if you get a caller then you still have a chance to hit an ace...if you do and you bet out again ....your caller likely will slow down if he only has the K. If you get played back at on the flop after you bet then throw your hand away.....Now the question is how much to bet on the flop. I don't know how much you raised and I don't know how much is in the pot..but I would bet out 2/3 the pot or I'd bet the pot.If you don't plan on betting the flop when you are the preflop raiser and everbody checks to you...then don't raise with this hand preflop. You raise preflop to take the lead and be the aggressor...as soon as you slow down on the flop then people know you missed and know that you won't put any money in the pot unless you have something. In an early position I probably would not raise this hand preflop ( unsuited). I don't even like the hand all that much unless its suited in early position. If I was in early position and I did raise preflop with this and just got 3 cold calls then ofcourse I'd bet the flop no matter what it was...unless it was something scary like 8d9d10d and I didn't have the ace of diamonds...then I think you check. This is just all my opinion though...so good luckTotally disregard this post..I just looked back and you said this was limit..I'm thinking NL...sorry....I'd still maybe bet

Here is a good article that explains why you should not bet in this case.......i thought it might better explain why a check is better than a bet in this case.....but in nl a bet is prob a good idea, but limit there is no reason to bet in this casehttp://www.twoplustw.../kagan0305.html
