It's low limit, so I didn't lose a lot, but this was the stupidest bad beat that's happen to me.Ultimate Bet 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converterPreflop: Trono is Button with Q:heart:, Q:spade:. UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP3 calls, Trono calls.Flop: (21.40 SB) 8:diamond:, 2:diamond:, T:club: (5 players)UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls, MP3 folds.Turn: (14.20 BB) 7:diamond: (3 players)UTG checks, MP1 bets, Trono calls, UTG calls.River: (17.20 BB) 9:club: (3 players)UTG checks, MP1 bets, Trono calls, UTG calls.Final Pot: 20.20 BBResults in white below: Trono has Qh Qs (one pair, queens). UTG has 9s Jd (straight, jack high). MP1 has Ad Ks (high card, ace). Outcome: UTG wins 20.20 BB.

Some people do this to represent a big hand. If they know it will be capped, and they'll be calling all four bets, they'll cap it themselves so it diguises their hand a bit. Also for equity in case their hand/draw does hit.

Yeah, but do you realize what he called 4 bets with?
He didn't call four bets with anything. He capped it before the flop, hoping to convey strength, and also to build a pot in case he made a good draw to suck out on your obvious overpair. I'm not saying this is a good strategy, but capping here is definitely better than calling IMO.

Do you realize the limits you are playing at? At those limits, having someone call preflop with connecting cards (not suited in this case) is not that rare an occurence. The only thing that saved from losing even more money was the possible flush that was out there. If you want to play at those low limits, be prepared to have beats such as this, which isn't that bad when you look back at it, as you only had a pair of queens when it was all said and done.
