If they know it will be capped, and they'll be calling all four bets, they'll cap it themselves so it diguises their hand a bit. Also for equity in case their hand/draw does hit. He capped it before the flop, hoping to convey strength, and also to build a pot in case he made a good draw to suck out on your obvious overpair. I'm not saying this is a good strategy, but capping here is definitely better than calling IMO. Link to post Share on other sites

At those limits, having someone call preflop with connecting cards (not suited in this case) is not that rare an occurence. The only thing that saved from losing even more money was the possible flush that was out there. If you want to play at those low limits, be prepared to have beats such as this, which isn't that bad when you look back at it, as you only had a pair of queens when it was all said and done.
