I want to build a bankroll out of Royal Vegas' free $10 and was wondering what the lowest limits they offered were for holdem and omaha 8? Obviously O8 will have lower variance and less schooled players so would be better for a vulnerable bankroll.

.05/.10 limit, and if I'm not mistaken I thought I heard that Omaha or O8 had a bigger variance, but I could be mistaken on that

Nope, the variance is (At least it should be) smaller for O/8, possibly Omaha hi too. The basic theory of Omaha and Omaha hi/lo is "wait for the nuts and bash people over the head with them repeatedly". In short, you can go a LONG time between hands, but you should almost never lose a showdown. This is especially true at the lowest levels, which are filled with Hold 'Em players who try to play it the same way as Hold 'Em ("Ooh, small pocket pair, I'll stick around...All right! I hit my baby set! I'll go all-in and...oh, look, you have a bigger set and I'm drawing to one out.") and get destroyed as a result.

That's the idea. I plan to scoop my way to 300xBB and then diversify into holdem and stud 8/b as well. Holdem alone would just be too risky with a $10 starting bankroll, particularly with lots of calling stations.
