Just got back and will post a real trip report soon but I wanted to send big Congrats to Anthony who played extremely well - I think that everyone at the table underestimated him at the beginning and I had him pegged as extremely tight since it seemed like he didn't play almost any hands thru the first few levels. But as it got close to the first break, he really opened up his game and basically went on a tear and never looked back. The "quiet assassin" is what popped into my mind as I watched him play. Thanks to FCP for putting on a great event!

I'll have a blog up later with more details, but let me just tell you that this kid is SICK good. I'm slightly shocked how a kid with NO experience playing for any serious money can play as well as he did at an extremely tough final table. He made some incredible moves and bluffs and understood his table image extremely well. What impressed me most was his recognition of how he was percieved and his ability to exploit it big time. He played unbelievably well. He will seriously do some damage. The big time pros will not know what hit them when he comes to their table.

Yeah, I just woke up not too long ago. Replying to e-mails and talking to friends. Thank you for all the congratulatory comments. I am as every bit as shocked and surprised at winning this tournament as you all are. I was probably the most inexperienced and unlikely candidate to win among all the players. The Bergren brothers were one of the favourites. In fact, after reading all the profiles and talking to them in person, anyone of them could take it down. I knew that it was going to be a very tough table.Definitely big shoes to fill with Brian playing so well and getting second in one of the tournaments. I hope I can keep my lucky streak going and live up to everyone's expectations. It was a great experience and I think everyone had a good time there regardless of the outcome. Nicely run by FCP.

It would be funny if you only played the events that Anthony was playing in.....just to try to bust him. Of course, Daniel knows all your tells too, so I guess MicroMan/PokerNinja would have an edge.....Speaking of which, is there going to be a Protege1 vs Protege2 heads up match? That would be cool....

It was mentioned while i was down there, so it's possible. Daniel's comment: "would you be scared playing him? i would be!"

Hey guys,This is Hadi--just want to send out another congrats to Anthony, the young man was as cool as a cucumber & didn't make any real mistakes. I was extremely proud of my play up until HU, I was about as patient & disciplined as I have ever been at a poker table all the way through from 10 handed to 3. My heads-up play, however, was rather disappointing, after a few hands of nothing going my way, I was down below 200k, and rather than get hyper aggressive putting Anthony to the test, as he said in his interview, I got rather passive. I think my mistake was actually looking at my cards when on the button, lol.. rather, i should have just looked at my thumb nail, then calmly pushed in my stack, time and again. :club: In the end, unfortunately, I think my play was more a reflection of how badly i did not want to lose rather than of how badly i wanted to win. I'm generally a very solid, aggressive HU player, but wow, a 40-50k bubble will do wonders to one's ability to push with a 28o, or a J4o, lol... I can still remember reacting to my cards for the first time in the entire tournament--before being dealt my second last hand, I decided that i needed to push with anything, at about 60k or so, then I looked down at 7h2h, and reacted to it, which put me off quite a bit, after that hand came the irrelevant final hand, J8 vs A3.. oh how I wish I had that 300k stack to play over again, hehe..If I had to lose it to anyone, though, i'm glad I lost it to Anthony--he is a very good natured, well mannered individual, and I wish him all the luck in the future!Edit; I also wanted to thank all the guys at FCP for putting this baby on, it was a fantastic weekend! I had a great time, and I enjoyed meeting all the other players and the friends and family of the whole 'FCP gang'.

I just want to state that this thread is extremely weak and disappointing compared to the first Protege thread.JS.
