playing a full ring $50NL on bodog

preflop

hero has $55.35 and is dealt Q icon_suit_diamond.gif 10 icon_suit_diamond.gif on the button
villain has 95.43

2 folds, villain raises $.50 to $1.00, 1 fold, dukebball32 calls $1, hero calls 1.00, SB folds, BB folds

flop (pot is $3.75)

7 icon_suit_diamond.gif 9 icon_suit_club.gif 2 icon_suit_diamond.gif

villain bets $2.50, dikebball32 folds, hero calls $2.50

turn (pot is 8.75)

J icon_suit_club.gif

villain checks, hero ?

the turn now gives me an OESD + my FD, should i bet big here to try to take it down? would it be better to bet small to try to get him to come along with me since i have a good draw?

Reads? It looks like he whiffed and just made a c/b. I bet about 2/3 of the pot and try to take it down here. If he calls you've got plenty of outs. If there were other players in the hand though I'd take the free card.

QFT. You have Q high, so you would like to take this here (but you don't mind a call). I don't like checking behind here.

Whole Idea is to make some money with the hande.. I'd bet something... 1/2 - 2/3 the pot soounds right... looks like u trying to steal the pot and prob call u...
the straight is the hand u want completd and not the flush.. because he prob wouldn't pay u off when u hit it

Bet half the pot. Make it look like you are slowplaying.

Two things I've learned from my travels through the low stakes:

1. Every time you raise, people put you on AK
2. Every time you call/bet turn, people perceive it as a slow play.

well after he checked, i bet $5 into $8.75

river (pot is $18.75)

Q icon_suit_spade.gif

villain checks, hero checks

final pot $17.85
rake $.90

showdown

villain shows A icon_suit_club.gif 7 icon_suit_heart.gif for one pair sevens
hero shows Q icon_suit_diamond.gif 10 icon_suit_diamond.gif for one pair, queens

not exactly the river i wanted, but it works

I would have bet the turn and the river.... nice draw even if u check called the turn... I would value bet the River...at least 2/3 to pot size making it look like u representing the Queen where you have one.. shouldn't be a scare card for you and don't leave it up to villian to bet it for you...
