Bodog 20/40 LHE (6-handed)Cobalt is BB w/ A A . I haven't been at the table long, so I haven't developed much of an image. I've played with the button before. He's a maniac (of the terrible variety) and most of the table is aware of that. I have no problems with it at all. Seems pretty standard. If you had a better read on the SB, you might be able to just call him on the turn, but as it is I'm still not folding at any point in this hand and while SB's play looks like it could be a set or a big draw on the flop that he hit on the turn, it could just as easily be KK or KQ or something of that ilk.

I think SB has KK or QQ here, or even the other AA way more than anything else, possibly we can include JJ on the flop, but he loses that from his range on the turn, and definitely TT can be included, although a lot of players won't go so crazy with it pf.I think we could also include AQs, KQs, AKs, given the way the flop was played, then reduce that to AQs, KQs on the turn. I suppose we could include a hand like QT if they will 3-bet out of the sb liberally to button raises, as well. Oh, and definitely KJs is in there.Either way, we are ahead of AQs, KQs, KK, and behind only QQ, TT, QT, and KJsAlso, the button looks like he's almost certainly on some kind of draw, probably a flush draw, but maybe something like JQ, which can actually be added to the sb's range as well, again, if he'll 3-bet aggressively out of the sb.With all of the incoherent ranting above, I'd like to cap the turn, because:

• We are ahead of both players enough, imo. If I were to guess a hand for sb, it would be KK, with AQs in second.
• We want to charge the button when we are ahead.
• Information, sorta. If we cap here, and SB still leads the river, it's an easy call. If we just call here on the turn, I'd be tempted to raise a safe river even.

Zach, the problem I had with capping the turn was figuring out what in the world SB could put me on to be 3-betting in that spot. By that point, I'd pretty well represented AA/QQ/TT...but he was still coming. And you realize that your range actually has more hands that we're behind than ahead, right?And are you raise/folding this river? Seems a little insane to me...I'd think we'd be much better off looking for an overcall from the button.

My tendency is to cap the turn in my games.And call the river.But against a sound opponent (which I am assuming 20/40 opponents are), your logic of calling the turn bet is probably more sound.--CM

Ya, ok. Overcall on the river is better.I'm pretty indifferent between calling the 3-bet on the turn, and capping, as well, upon retrospect.

You may be indifferent, but you were halfway correct. SB did in fact have KK. Button had A9 (which I wouldn't exactly call a draw).
